Tom Cotton said it best in his take. Sessions made the investigation look completely contrived and stupid...which it is. And, he made Comey look like a dolt. I cannot wait to see how CNN spins this one....

So he conducted himself like a politician and civil servant?

Trump in one of these would be a disaster.

Sessions is a goofball and a reefer madness guy, but he won't give launch codes on his twitter feed.

"I don't remember" and "I don't recall" and slow down you're making me nervous" don't destroy anything but his own credibility.

Well, when you are being asked for things that are broad and have very complex legal ramifications without being able to respond it will tend to make you defensive. Sessions is currently being hammered because he didn't reveal going to a speech a year ago with hundreds of other people that happened to also include the Russian Ambassador so it is not like he doesn't have reason. One of the questions for instance was whether he met anyone that is a Russian businessman during the GOP Convention where he likely met hundreds of people, many of which he likely didn't know. If he says "no" then all they have to do is find one person that was a Russian businessman amongst the tens of thousands at the Convention and make the assumption they met because "RUSSIANS!"

I mean my neighbor down the street is Russian and I have had a few conversations with the guy over the last year so I guess that makes me as much of a conspirator as Sessions. I may have even waved to his kids on the way to school.

Then it's a good thing Hillary wasn't elected!

There's about four minutes between the order being given and the people responsible for launching nuclear weapons to do so."

I don't recall is a perfectly reasonable answer when you don't fricking recall. (As somebody already said, "Did you have a conversation with one person at one of 50 parties held for the campaign with hundreds of people there....he probably doesn't recall.) What do you want him to do, make some shite up? Lie about it? Also, "Slow down you are making me nervous" is a perfectly decent request when some dipshit is rattling stupid questions at you without letting you even finish answering the question (because the answer you are giving doesn't fit the narrative the dipshit wants to push.) I think Sessions came off as completely honest and made this entire proceeding look stupid....which it is.

I very strongly disagree with Sessions on his stance on marijuana and a few other issues but he isn't a "goofball" if by that you're suggesting he's dumb or unintelligent. He's very smart and knows the law very well even if his delivery is slow, measured, and a bit clumsy. He's certainly no dummy and him being careful not to fall for the gotchas and traps Democrats are trying to set is further proof of that.

You're right about Trump though. He would be a complete disaster in a setting like this.

True. He probably doesn't have them.

I hope.
