I could have afforded the rates for someone my age with my health record pre-obamacare. Before odumbo decided that I need all this shite covered that I didn't want nor need to be covered.

But Obama said that what I want is a bad policy and I'm too dumb to know what I want covered.

What? The money that's paid for my health insurance is going to go for my health insurance, the health insurance of some poor and I get some back.

Here's the actual solution to the healthcare issue.

Build a clinic in each county in America. staff it up with doctors and nurses who are working for reduced wages in exchange for free schooling.

Then set the pricing on a sliding schedule , the less income you have the smaller amount you pay , with the rest paid for by the government.

Shut down Medicaid, Medicare and the VA altogether, letting those folks use the clinics .

And leave everyone else alone to buy the insurance that they see fit to buy.

The United States currently spends $3 trillion on health care each year—nearly $10,000 per person.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
This plan has been estimated to cost $1.38 trillion per year.
Well that's the solution then!
Insure 10% more people at 46% of the cost.
All the while we could continue tort unscathed.

Sounds legit!

you have to be a goddamn retard to support an estate tax of any kind. That money has already been taxed through income and capital gains and sales taxes. Then if you were successful enough to manage to accumulate some wealth to leave to your family despite all that, the government swoops in and takes half of it again, so they can blow it on entitlements to get themselves elected over and over again. Go die in a fire you piece of garbage

The U.S. spends more on health care per person, .......... But all that money has not made Americans healthier than the rest of the world

Two things you need to understand, which in your case may not be possible. First, "Healthy" is not a function of health care. And secondly, health insurance is NOT health care.
More money is "spent" here because most of the world's medical innovation and medical research (outside of Roche Holdings) happens here. Regardless of your station in life you have access to the most advanced health care in the world in the U.S.
Or we could go the way you and Bernie suggest with inferior results when lives are on the line.

Brilliant idea, let's use the money that we only get from half of the citizens, to pay for healthcare for every citizen.

Math is hard.

Your proposal has merit, except for this part:
quote:

Then set the pricing on a sliding schedule , the less income you have the smaller amount you pay , with the rest paid for by the government.
Waste of time. Go ahead and make it free, with the Feds picking up the entire tab.

People who can afford to go elsewhere will do so to avoid the long waits/lower quality of care.

Of course we'll still have the issue of the undocumented worker who falls off a roof and breaks his back, or the unemployed hillbilly who ODs on heroin, and other things you couldn't treat without more advanced medicine that a county clinic could provide. But at least you would eliminate the whole "poor people being denied access to health care" argument.

As for the cost of acquiring land/buildings for gummint-run healthcare facilities, that problem can be solved easily (and relatively cheaply):

Thousands of readily available vacant Federally-owned properties nationwide

Whew. Now the middle class can finally sleep at night knowing that a government program will never require their taxes to keep in funding in the long term.

Where is the money coming from to pay for medicare for all?

That's my question.

Medicare "works" because everyone with a paycheck pays into the system and it covers a fairly small percentage of the population.

Leftovers?
I'll ask this like I asked before ObamaCare.

Progressives kept talking about how healthcare costs to everybody would go down with ObamaCare.....so how do you give 30 million Americans free healthcare and costs go down?

It is simple economics....free isn't free. Somebody somewhere pays for it.

It's basically his plan from 2013 which was criticized by everyone including liberal economic outlets about its financial unfeasibility
