Senate votes to block Obama gun control rule

The rule would have allowed FedGov to prohibit gun sales to people who's only "mental disorder" was the inability to handle their financial affairs and had a third party handle them on their behalf.
You heard that right. Not someone who was legit BSC and could go off at any time, but merely someone who couldn't "BTC" (balance their checkbook) and had someone do it for them.
The House already approved the measure, so it now goes to President Trump for approval which is expected.

This is certainly not "fake news." the Republican Party is enacting national legislation to allow seriously mentally ill people to buy whatever guns they want to buy. Clearing the way for mentally ill people to buy guns is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. When one of these mentally ill maniacs starts shooting up Republicans, will we be able to say, "I told you so."

If the maniac isn't Muslim, the republicans won't even notice

Probably not, but its fricking annoying when someone says it no matter what without reading or even taking time to look at it huh

Who determines their mentally ill state? Which mental illnesses are ok to have guns and which ones arent? If their physician sees them as a harm to self or others they would be involuntarily committed. So by deduction them not being involuntarily committed that means what TBoy?

If a grown arse man or woman doesn't have the mental aptitude to balance a checkbook maybe them not having a gun is a good thing.

They've been trying to classify everything as a mental disorder the last 10 years to get everyone viewed as suspect and in need of Rx drugs.
Mental illness became the new polio - except the government wasn't looking for a cure - just looking to condemn most people with broad brushes. "You get stressed out?" - you are mentally ill.

Who makes the determination as to who is mentally ill?

Islam is a mental disorder.
Thanks for reminding us.

If someone has been legally designated to handle your finances because you are incompetent you probably should not be around guns.

Guns are easy to handle. Finances can be tricky especially if you are rich.
How's your portfolio?

I pay someone to manage it for me but a court did not force me to do that. You probably don't understand the distinction though.

No No No. They are introducing a bill to rectify this and prevent the genuinely deranged from purchasing firearms.
It's the No2A For Registered Dems Act

And neither would the Feds at some point.

I would wager that a large majority of our population cannot balance a checkbook.

Not if you want to chop your dick off.

You have a Wells Fargo account no gun for you. Next

Who still carries around a check book?

They're based in San Francisco. Don't give them any ideas about denying accounts to gun holders.
And nice try. Having an account =/= having a financial manager.
