the fact is that minimum wage needs to be raised.
indeed, if you can't afford to pay the employees you need to run your business a living wage, your business model doesn't work and you should not be running a business
You've never had an Econ class in your life.

Common sense would be to drop the minimum wage and let wages find equilibrium.

A widespread problem with people who stay at minimum wage is they don't show up for work consistently. People who do not show up are not worth more. People who do show up are worth more and will need a raise to maintain the proper delta with the laggards. Eventually everybody will get a raise and be back at the start.
You cannot confer worth on someone by changing the arbitrary measure of it.
Hell, why not make it $30 an hour.

So the role of a business is to provide pay to workers? Last i checked it was to make money and the by product work work.
The role of a business is to provide a community a good or service, in exchange for something else of value.
Businesses must operate within the laws of the jurisdictions they're located in

That was really working well before the minimum wage was instituted.

The median price of a home sold in the United States in January 1970 was $23,600.
The median price of a home sold in the United States in January 2017 is $345,800
Minimum wage in 1970 $1.60

You do the math.
