I hope the Dims do!

Gorsuch is such a good nomination that even the most establishment and liberal of the GOPe will Reid rule their dumb arses!

When it comes time to put a conservative in Ginsburg, Breyer, or Kennedy's place, we only need 50 senators and a VP tie breaker!

At this point it's hard to pick the worst Schumer: Chuck or Amy.

Not really. Our guy is going to be on the court one way or another.

The GOP will never learn that the dems are only interested in their own power. When you win shove it down their throat like they did when Obumba won. When the GOP gives the dems a voice while in charge the dems will shove it down the GOP's throats.

It's very disgusting watching these Dems destroy the constitution. They care less about laws when the law might impede their purpose.

Yes, Gorsuch was approved unanimously in 2006.

All they're doing is encouraging the death of the filibustrr, and making sure no consideration is given to the left next go around for SCOTUS. It's a lonely hill to die on.

The filibuster was always a stupid rule to begin with. It has been modified many times over the years. I completely give the history of it's changes in an earlier post in this thread

Here's a poser for you - does nuclear option have to be declared before a vote?

So Schumer is being an inconsistent, hypocritical hack. Got it.

Making the Republicans go nuclear over swapping one conservative with another, especially one this qualified, scandal-free, and undivisive is just plain dumb strategy because it means that WHOMEVER retires or dies next can be replaced by anyone Trump wants, no matter how wacky, and in the case of a liberal seat, that would fundamentally change the court. There's just no defense of it from a strategy standpoint. Emotionally, yeah I sure it's somewhat satisfying to get some sort of short-lived quasi-revenge for Garland. But strategically it's on the same level as Hitler ruining several armies fighting over Stalingrad when he could have just bypassed it and left it for dead.

Shhh.

He and his ilk operate off of emotion first.

Let them live and die by the rules they created when they thought they had absolute power for eternity.

I'm loving this.

I almost wish they had nominate Garland just to see what the reactions would have been.

When Cruz loses his seat next year, he will fade into obscurity. Does anyone actually want him to be in our government anymore? He is truly the worst.

What exactly are you basing this on?

He already kissed and made up with Trump and has actually been pretty quiet since Trump won the election and there hasn't been much chatter towards primary challenges.

And Texas is still pretty damn red.

I voted for Cruz in 2012. I regret that vote. Dude was responsible for the shut down in 2013 and everyone just forgot about it. Listening to him speak is pretty horrible. He talks like he is all about individual liberty, but I feel like it's a charade. Rand Paul is a much better choice for any position than Ted Cruz.

Cruz just speaks up when he knows it will get him noticed. He is a junior senator trying to steal the spotlight. That's why he ran for president too. He just wants attention to further his career. I'm not suggesting Texas will go blue. Every time my sister tells me we are only a cycle or two away, I laugh uncontrollably. I just hope Cruz loses to a moderate conservative that runs Republican, because that's how it works in Texas.

Gorsuch is a justifiable guarantee at this point. Schumer forcing the Nuke Option over Gorsuch is tactically stupid. IF RGB keels over, going nuclear on Gorsuch would guarantee an ultracon replacing RBG.
