Thompson presented a criticism of the historicity of the New Testament in his 2005 book, The Messiah Myth: The Near Eastern Roots of Jesus and David, while stopping short of claiming that Jesus never lived.

Well there ya go. Some Meechiganer from Detroit says it ain't so. I'm convinced.

It would be like saying "Julius Caesar never existed because only the Romans kept records of anything he did."

Not even remotely true.

ah the only the bible talks about Jesus argument. There are a few problems with this argument.

1) more than the bible refer to Jesus in the early history of the world. Not as much as other historical figures but they are there
2) Extra biblical sources for what ever reason are held to a much higher scrutiny than typical historical sources. Usually people who don't believe in Jesus will never have enough evidence.
3) Jesus historically wasn't really that big of a deal until people decided to follow him and such and such. It was typical in Jerusalem for a prophet to arise cause a following, maybe preach against the state and the jews and be killed. Jesus was just another trouble maker to most Roman Historians, it was written about, but it's not like everyone living at the time of Christ knew his significance. Many people in history are mere footnotes but than something big happens even after their death and they get some big following. Christ was just another prophet/ guy claiming to be the messiah, etc. It's not like now of days where 20 cameras are on a celebrity every where they go. If you lived in Jeresualem you probably would have heard of Jesus but it probably wasn't enough to care about him that much, only if you actually heard him and decided to follow him, or if he was preaching against your religion.

My whole point is, it is likely that the historical accounts of Christ are very limited. Not because they made it up but because well he didn't come down to earth in a pillar of Cloud.

now to make this about Christmas. He was born to a lowly teenage girl who was just one of many women in Jerusalem, who was betrothed to a carpenter Joseph. Who cares about a carpenter, and the women he is betrothed too? They were poor they had no money to stay at the inn and no room either. He was born in a manger likely a cave. In Bethlehem on the outskirts of roman rule, and not even that significant of a town in Jerusalem.

My who point is that God appears to us in simplistic ways not so that everyone has no doubt he came down to earth. He chooses the most unexpected and insignificant places to bring about his salvation.

Christ isn't mentioned that much outside of the bible? That is no surprise that is how god works.

Exactly. Another piece of shite promoting something that she doesn't even believe in. Only wanting to antagonize Christians. Can't they believe whatever they want and she could do the same?

Why does she even care? Can't believe that there are so many losers in this country.

What point?
That free speech can be used in a stupid, or even in a defiling manner. Interesting accomplishment.

I guess it's the point that adults can be adult with being triggered by silly things like flags and displays.

I know way more than you about Satan, though. He's not that bad. He realized God was a hypocrite, and split off because he knew the "man" thing was destined to fail. Why do you hate freedom, and having choices?
