There is no true justice in filing a lawsuit. They might not want money, but if they win that is what will be received. Could possibly use it to start a foundation, but it will probably be a radical lefty take your guns away organization.

can some lawyer from a jurisdiction that requires a notice of filing explain to me the policy?
You just have to file notice within a year or so of an incident to retain your right to sue. It doesn't always mean that a lawsuit is coming.

In this case they are probably still waiting on information from the Lanza family regarding what was really going on with Adam. I think it was only recently revealed that he hadn't left his room for months and was openly belligerent. Seems like the mom (and estate) was extremely negligent for leaving guns around the home. She was probably a nut herself.

Give it another year and there might be information that comes out that the school was previously threatened by Adam, or perhaps he revealed specific threats to other professionals.

Definitely don't agree with this. If they sue it's because they want the money. It's a lot of trouble and work to go through so they would obviously care about the money.

Only person I could see them suing would be Lanza's parents. No way the school is responsible for this.

I wonder if the parents had a life insurance policy on their kids.

Could they sue the estate of the shooters deceased mother? Wasn't she pretty well off?

I read this morning that they're suing the gun manufacturer and the shop that sold it.

I don't see it going very far.

Cptbengal told me it was all a hoax...seems pretty outrageous that all these crisis actors would keep pushing the hoax this far. WOW!!!

I really hate posts like this. You're dealing with a bunch of grieving parents who want SOME semblance of justice. Its entirely natural to seek out someone to blame since the POS who pulled the trigger took thre easy way out.

I don't agree with the lawsuit, but it's not like they're a bunch of welfare queens filing a lawsuit to get rich. They probably don't even care about the money.

This.

And here is the winner! Sue the School Board for enacting policies that do not allow individuals to protect themselves from the crazies. If teachers were allowed to carry weapons shite like this would stop.
