Unless Ryan is purposely trying to undermine Trump's presidency, this is exactly what he needs to do.

His stubborn "my way or the highway" approach crashed & burned.

You would think he would have learned from his predecessor. McConnell, Graham, and McCain still hold way too much power in the party. Something has to be done about these frickers when their terms come up.

He can work to appease the FC in the House, but appeasing them is likely to lose some support from some modertate Senate R's.

I don't know. I think Senate moderates just don't want to be the ones making the call. I think they would vote in support of the bill if the House was willing to step up and take responsibility for it.

I really don't understand why the House just won't pass a damn health insurance bill. If the bill is liberal or conservative it really doesn't matter. The purpose is to get the ball rolling and have something to send to the senate. Once the senate receives it the senate will change it and it will have to get Rand, Cruz and Lee's support to get through the senate. I trust those guys to rewrite a House bill, pass it in the senate and send it back to the House. At that point there would be too much pressure on Ryan not to pass the Seante version.

People in the Freedom Caucus are threatening to leave it. Most now understand, something is better than nothing.

They had things on the plate they could have won with and they refused it. Now they are looking at nothing. How long have they had any "wins"?

If HFC isn't willing to concede on some things then nothing is ever going to pass.
