Nobody plans on getting addicted to drugs or getting in a car wreck. That's the whole point of insurance.
However, I don't have a problem carving out certain things if hey can't apply to your situation. I'm also for incentives to promote healthy behaviors. Overweight people, smokers, etc should pay more.

I don't see how in the world they can pass those changes through the reconciliation process.

The headline "it passed" is the only thing Trump cares about. He's moving on.

As we should. We need to pass tax reform

They camt. So they need 60 in senate.
Hence trumps insistence to pass ss is, which so far apparently met with opposition from the right.

Fascinating. Watching Donald Trump make deals is like watching a combination of Michaelangelo and John Coltrane in his prime

Dude, that's what you get from the exchange. Nonexistent networks and massive deductibles.

How this wasnt in the first iteration is abusurd. A single 65 yo male shouldnt have to buy maternity coverage
That's a slippery slope. But that's not really why prices are high.
Should a 21 year old be paying for a 60 yr olds hip replacement? See how that can be reversed?

quote:Do you remember the thousands of pages in the original Obamacare "You have to pass it to know what's in it" bill? The fact is, it is a cancerous monstrosity. Like a cancel cell, it stretches it's tentacles out for life and reaches into other areas. Excising it from the body is difficult because of this. The same with this bill. Those Democrat frickers created a bill that made it difficult to just destroy and start over. It has little hooks and tentacles in different places that make a bill hard to craft that removes it all. Maybe Ryan is right. Maybe it takes multiple treatments to create the cure.
Why in the hell were those regulations not cut when this bill was freaking written in the first place?

A 21 year old should have a catastrophic plan with tiny premiums and save for his or her own hip replacement.

Ok, what about a 40 yr old.
And please stop with a moronic statement about a 21 yr old saving to pay for his own hip replacement.....I can't even begin to speak on the level of failure in that statement.

EHB repeal would also allow insurers to sell plans that do not cover substance-abuse treatment
Good. One of the many problems of Obamacare was one size fits all insurance. I don't want to pay for "substance-abuse treatment". I also don't want to pay for maternity care because....i'm a man. It's nonsensical government stupidity.

when I was on a high deductible plan I saved the cost difference between that plan and a comprehensive plan for future medical needs.
That was until Obama ruined my planning with his disastrous bill.
You're statement basically implies, people are too stupid to plan for their own needs.
That's a damning statement.

So a 21 yr old will start a savings plan for a hip replacement that may take place in 40 yrs?
Look, the bottom line is you cannot exclude a service like that one. Now, a single male doesn't need maternity.

"essential health benefits." Under Obamacare, all insurance policies must include ten categories of benefits, such as maternity care and preventive coverage,
Well shite a brick!!
That is the onerous stuff that I thought would be jerked out in the first cut - it is one of the prime drivers of cost and irrelevancy.

Vote dead now?
If the ACA is going to be repealed prior to the 2018 election it probably has to happen by mid-April so Congress can avoid hearing from their constituents.

Big insurance is trying to figure out how to game the system through a very unAmerican socialist plan and shift all attention away from free market plans.
Its not socialist if big business is behind it.

I can't believe they didn't nix those regs in the first place. It's insane to not let people customize their own plans to their own needs.
