Nobody is talking about the "Russian/Wikileaks hack" angle which is complete bullshite but which will have renewed juice if this happens

Well, yeah. Sharing classified files would put anyone at risks.
ETA: I'm not debating whether or not the NSA was right or wrong. I'm just saying that the things he shared could have been threatening to people. He should have went a different route.

Sounds like he could be the democratic nominee in 2020

A pardon for that patriot would be easier.

Dude outed domestic spying and warrantless wiretapping.
Just like when there is a case of hacking in the private sector, you have people in the "offended party" trying to make it seem worse than it is. You have Generals saying "had nothing to do with exposing government oversight of domestic activities. The vast majority of those were related to our military capabilities, operations, tactics, techniques and procedures." But that is likely bullshite, on account of what was released.
And Russia didn't keep him to glean shite off of him. . .they did it because it pissed Obama off.
Edward Snowden is a hero of individual liberty. He saw a wrong and let everyone know at great personal risk.
American Hero

Snowden's identity was made public by The Guardian at his request on June 9, 2013. He explained: "I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong." He added that by revealing his identity he hoped to protect his colleagues from being subjected to a hunt to determine who had been responsible for the leaks.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this if it is indeed true.
Did the guy break the law, yes.... Did he do something patriotic, yes...
He exposed govt over each and violations of people's civil rights.
Does Trump truly dive in and take a grown up approach to it or does he spout off and call for him to be executed for treason prior to truly understanding the situation

Sorry but I just cannot agree with the President on this one, Snowden is far from a traitor. He exposed things that still shock people 'til this day.

He deserves to be tried for treason. Sentenced to hang then have the sentence commuted

Hillary wanted him under the espionage act.. carries a death sentence..
Trump could piss off a lot of people by pardoning him

That is what they said about Daniel Ellsberg. History has proven he was an American hero.

He did all of us a favor exposing our shitty government and people want to crucify him

I think everyone who is quick to chime in "hang him for treason" should read more into this case.
Ironic that a lot of y'all are calling for his head from an AT&T or Verizon mobile device.
Snowden risked his life so that we could know the truth. The man is a patriot.
