I would rather see them just partition the government, end this metro-council BS and have a parish government and city government.

It's an inevitability at this point. All of you who voted against it need to apologize for questioning the foresight of that movement. BTR has been trending down for a while and this seals it.

My home value in BR proper disagrees.

People who have lived in this area for a while and say this lack all kinds of self awareness.

There hasn't been a vote on St George. Ignorant posts like yours makes me cringe.

It's always calm before the storm. I own a home in Woodgate. Even I, in my Highland Road bubble, am not naive enough to think it's untouchable with this Mayor. She's already on record being in agreement with Barrack's plan for suburban America.

I moved to Baton Rouge over a decade ago and the city is far better now than it was then. I would be very curious which metric you would cite to convey your assertion.

Some of you are making Broome out to be some kind of radical. She isn't. And Baton Rouge is not in decline. The economy here is robust and there is construction all over the place. The main thing wrong with BR socially and economically is the EBRP school system, the non-magnet part. Lotta work still needs to be done there.

I didn't vote for her, but she's not exactly Denise Marcelle. I'm not sure why people are freaking out.

I didn't vote for her, but I'm going to give her a fair shot. I hope I'm surprised. I don't think she's a radical either.

My home value in BR proper agrees. I mean, if I ever even get an offer. Tanking.

She's going to have her first meeting with BRAF, BRAC, etc and they'll remind her that she needs to chill.

BTR had actually been on a huge upward trend since 2008 up until this summer and the Great Flood. Well, hopefully Weston-Broome at least continues the revitilization of mid city, the nicholson corridor, and downtown.

Huh? I just said she'll be reminded very quickly who runs the show in BR. And it's not her.

I lost any glimmer of hope when, not 5 minutes in, she said "community policing"
