Let's see... Once I was banned because someone asked me why some gay men were against gay marriage. My answer that got me banned: "Because they have self-hate issues."
Another ban was when all posts mocking Michelle Bachman's husband were deleted and posters were warned against critical posts against spouses. I asked the admin why the new rule after 4 years of trashing the First Lady. No answer. I asked again in another thread. I was banned for "stalking".
My last ban was a response to a post re Ray Nagin and liberals. Nagin of course was the "business candidate and I responded that he was "your tar baby" (a phrase of course from literature). I was banned.
I was PMed that if I made any post re LAT I would be banned.
The more you know.....

You just actually touched on a point I forgot about. As awesome a job they do, the admins can be inconsistent and it's not restricted to just the poliboard but to all of TD and the SECRant but it's what it is and they're still pretty good.
By the way, all those bans, your side of the story nonetheless, must've been short like I said and you're still here aren't you?

If you pay me for my time, I'd be glad to go through my posts and find them all. I've been banned probably 7 or 8 times. And honestly you can pick any one post of SEC Crazy at random and it'll be worse than any of my bans.
They last from one month to about 6.
Clearly the admins are biased but I'll say this in their defense... When Rex or I or Tuba post, we get RAed out the wazoo by the right wing crazies whereas the offensive posts by the right wing crazies are so common, they're not RAed. So the admins attention are directed by the RAs. The squeaky wheel and all that.
Btw, I rarely start threads any more. That's an invitation on this board for multiple RAs and a PM (which I've had too many to count).
Eta I remember two more bannages... On this board I told someone to blow me (I may have used more graphic language) in retaliation to a personal attack and on the SEC board I was banned for insulting an Auburn fan for mentioning their fanbase's proclivity for incest. (In my defense, I thought this was common knowledge and in no way an insult)

The doggie video alone puts Rex in a class of his own. I like him; like all of us...some days are better than others. He's a provocateur par excellence; as such, good for debate. And he loves his dogs; as do I.

true, but he takes rhetoric to a silly degree...I have to admit that the people who bicker with him are more irritating than he.
I guess the bottom line is that he is the epitome of what's wrong with radicals on the left and right; inability to comprehend intangible concepts or views, evaluate them, and independently and honestly develop a philosophy or position.
he's very, very good and being very, very dumb.

I've managed to be sent on vacation twice. Both times really were misunderstandings, though.

Don't we all have a little troll in us. This is primarily a football-based board; locker room and trash talk comes with the territory.
Besides, learning to bear the personal heat, and remain focused on point...is a good thing. Takes practice.

I don't consider him a troll per se as far as saying things just to get a reaction.
I believe that he says stupid and provacative things because he believes them (more or less) and then defends the position ad nauseum and with whatever words he can muster, no matter if false, nitpicking or overreaching, because he's a very annoying person when it comes to political issues. I do think perhaps at times he deteriorates into more pure trolling but generally that's not the motivation.
He seems okay on ther boards.
