1915 was for oil subsidies in the U.S.
We'll produce the name of the act. I'm all for learning new things!

Also, tax breaks are subsidies.. at the least they accomplish the same thing. A higher bottom line for company X.
OMG! You did not write that!? Yes you did!
So chickens are frogs.. at least their legs taste the same!

I did not know that and appreciate the education.
I deduced the info from critical thinking but it is even more useful to know that someone actually articulated these goals.

Negative externalities are not an economic concept in dispute.
Hot damn! What are the actual costs in dollars and cents of the negative externalities of an oil based economy. How are they derived? What's the break down?
Take your time.

Should have done this 40 years ago. No logical reason that almost all of our electrical power isn't nuclear.
Exactly! It's an honor to be on your side!

Back at ya. It may be surprising, but it's not unusual to ignorant useful idiot communists along side of actual Communists in all walks of life. They walk among us disguised as Progressives, liberals, leftists, etc.

We were talking subsidies my man. Why don't you bring valuable information to the table and show how subsidies CREATED the oil and gas industries!
I posted an exhaustive, peer-reviewed study to back up what I said with 7 trillion over three decades. All you had to do was click on the blue text in my post. Though I suppose the confusion you are engaging in that is equivocating that study with wars that are hypothesized to be at least partially motivated by oil is once again due to your own ignorance in how oil supply chains work. That study was not looking at wars, only the ongoing, direct military spending that is explicitly purposed to protect the oil supply chain.
Though maybe like negative externality, you have a core issue with understanding how subsidies can be administered? Spending government money in an effort to support an industry would fall under that umbrella, but if your angle is to argue semantics, you already lost the argument.
As to your continual willful ignorance on the historical corruption in the oil age, that is only remedied by your willingness to actually educate yourself. You seem unwilling to do so, so I can't help you there. Most of us managed to learn about Standard Oil and the Harding administration by High School, though some of us clearly struggled with the material.
Frankly I am not sure what this exercise serves other then to prop up a faith based belief in the moral integrity of the oil industry? One can recognize and acknowledge the ways actors in the oil industry have engaged in problematic behavior throughout its history and how our government has helped(and continues to help) the industry build and maintain itself while still acknowledging its vital importance to the American and world economy.

You're confused
Tax expenditures are subsidies.
Although I guess if you guys are right this means that you can support the government giving tax breaks and credits for electric vehicles
