I've been okay. Will be better once those grizzlies are eating away on Ms. Lois.

A friend passed away this morning. Young fifties and it's been a very sad morning so far.

How are you? My e-mail account is different because it was hacked into and I lost all the information for my contacts.

Thanks. I'm actually baking pound cakes and then making a chicken dish to take to the family.

What specific crime did she commit?

I thought you claim to be a lawyer? Shouldn't a lawyer know the laws she violated?

She gave confidential information gathered by her agency, the IRS, to an agency outside of the IRS, the Federal Election Commission. That is a violation of the confidentiality requirements imposed on the IRS by federal law. The information she illegally gave to the FEC even included salary information of the members of the group who are Obama's political opponents.

According to Judicial Watch, the materials “from the IRS’ files sent from Lerner to the FEC containing detailed, confidential information about the organizations. These include annual tax returns (Forms 990) and request for exempt recognition forms (Form 1024), Articles of Organization and other corporate documents, and correspondence between the nonprofit organizations and the IRS.

Under Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code, it is a felony for an IRS official to disclose either ‘return information or ‘taxpayer return information,’even to another government agency.”

she (legitimately IMO) may fear for her life and can only do harm to this regime -- so what's keeping her alive now?

It appears the talking points have been emailed out to the internet hacks. Do you realize you never cross the line? You never challenge your party to be better? It is why no one takes any of you seriously.

I have been very proud at the number of people on this board (and IRL) who were Republicans and are now libertarian (or leaning). They are calling out their old party of Republicans. Democrats will never do that.

That's because we the base of the Republican party have standards unlike the base of the dem party, which have only one standard and that is to attack those who have standards.

Very sorry to hear that. Was it one of your friends I met?

Doing well. Not perfect, but well. I had some minor outpatient surgery yesterday and the incisions are a little uncomfortable today. But I'm popping percocets like Tic-Tacs so I'm a bit in la-la land.

Been the gameplan since day one.

Too much of a spotlight on her right now.

Nobody in his right mind would believe she hung herself.

She either gets immunity falls on her sword and goes home, or she doesn't get immunity, falls on her sword, gets pardoned by Obama...and goes home.

Win-win for the administration.

Great point, 13.

I was thinking about that the other day. Back when W was president, numerous conservatives were calling him out on his spending, his increasing the size of government, the Patriot Act, TARP, Medicare Part D, etc...

For the most part, the liberals are loyal to their Party and are all in.

Well, there was a good bit of attention on the D.C. Madam, although it had waned a bit.

However, that was a classic bipartisan effort - she could have brought down both "sides" of the syndicate.

So once again, can an accused take the stand, testify in her own defense, then invoke the 5th on cross-examination without being subject to penalty?

She's an ordinary witness under subpoena, not an "accused" like a defendant in a criminal case.

You should get zero immunity for targeting citizens with the IRS.

She waived her rights by advocating her innocence, period.us

Do you think anything wrong happened here? If so how should this all go down and who should all be in trouble?

What's the difference, counselor, between an "ordinary witness" and any other witness?

You would love that, wouldn't you. Can't be dragging your Messiah's name through the mud, can we?

I'm not going to read the case (TL;DR). But, having said that, do you really want to proclaim "victory" and "put this baby to rest" on the basis of ONE district court from the '50's dealing with communist?

Are you serious?

This...and in the case noted above, was it just the cross where she refused or was in both the prosecution and defense asking questions?
Lerner decided just to take her stance AFTER answering and giving responses on her innocence to all.

You see, she is admitting she lied just by asking for immunity because her statement was she had done nothing illegal....so BECAUSE OF HER OWN STATEMENT, why would she ask for immunity....answer is very simple, cause she purgered herself.

Because of that, Congress will not let this go...imo
