Oxymoron. She committed a crime and she knows it. Take your partisan blinders off.

For once....

I think she's already said that she would do it in that case

She also said that she wouldn't take the fifth today. She also said that she fears for her life.

Any good lawyer will tell you not to testify even if you have nothing to hide & are completely innocent.

Did she not provide confidential information to an FEC attorney? If so, she lied under oath during her opening statement.

quote:

“When we spoke last July, you had told us that the American Future Fund had not received an exemption letter from the IRS,” an FEC attorney wrote in a February 2009 e-mail to Lerner.

But Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code provides that both “return information” and “taxpayer return information” are strictly confidential. An IRS source tells National Review Online that, within the agency, disclosing the information that Lerner appears to have provided is considered “a violation of Section 6103.”

That’s a felony punishable by up to $5,000 in fines or five years in prison. If found guilty of such a violation, Lerner, who has been on paid administrative leave since May, would also lose her job: “If such offense is committed by any officer or employee of the United States,” the law reads, he shall “be dismissed from office or discharged from employment upon conviction for such offense.”

good lawyer
Another oxymoron.....

She is a former high-ranking IRS employee who broke the public's trust and "just followed orders" to turn the IRS into a political arm of the Democrat Party.

What she did is the same as how Putin uses the Russian tax authorities to punish his political enemies.

I disagree. If you are completely innocent you have the advantage over the opposing lawyer in that you KNOW truth that he does not know. You can do more damage to his case during CX than he can do to yours. That assumes you are smart and a really good speaker. Lois Lerner is smart enough to handle the questions... IF she is completely innocent.

Edit... Think Ollie North. He made the Dems questioning him look like total fools.

This.

She says the buck stops with her if she gets immunity.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner. Congrats, Russian!

The fifth amendment was written to protect us, the people, from government. Lerner is the government and she is using the fifth while at the same time having trampled over the peoples rights. May she have honey poured into her vagina and grizzly bears let loose to eat away at it.

She chose to provide testimony to Congress under oath. You even cited it earlier.

From Hoag

quote:

She answered some questions, but refused to answer approximately 29, specifically invoking the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution. Among these 29 questions which she refused to answer on this ground are the eight made the basis for the indictment.

She even went beyond a proclamation of innocence and answered some questions.

Correct. I could have phrased that better.

What specific crime did she commit?

This current bunch is more professional than the Clintons.

Her body would NEVER be found.

So once again, can an accused take the stand, testify in her own defense, then invoke the 5th on cross-examination without being subject to penalty?

You know he isn't going to answer that truthfully. He's completely blind in his support for the tyranny he loves.

If she's truly in fear for her life as she claims to be, she's gonna fall on her sword whether they give her immunity or not. Being alive in prison is far preferable to the alternative.
