I'll ask again.

id also love for some clarification on where the line is to be drawn on statue removal. as ive already said, all great men in history are really, really, horrible men. Caesar? killed hundreds of thousands and enslaved just as many. alexander the great? same. the founders of damn near every country were horrible men who did horrible things to people. yet here we are, glorifying every single one of them. So, where does the line end? do we forgive julius caesar for his horrible transgressions against the gauls and other "barbarians"? Do we forgive Washington for his slaves?

quote:

There is no place for honoring confederate warriors in public places. Like it or not, they were fighting for turning apart the union and allowing people to be owned as property

How about all of the statues of history's greatest men? Caesar enslaved and killed many times over the amount of people as the confederacy. Should we tear down his statues? How about Washington? He fought to create a country which depended on slave labor. How about the founders of damn near every country on the globe?

Every man who is remembered and immortalized throughout history have done far more and far worse atrocities than even the worst confederate general whom has a statue.

Where do you draw the line?

Mount Rushmore? Slave owners and racist. Lincoln statue? Devout racist who wanted to send all the former slaves to south America and the Caribbean where they would have ended up on plantations that made the cotton plantations of the south look like 5 star resorts.

What statues do you think are acceptable? Why is a statue of Caesar okay, yet Robert E Lee is not?

Either all statues of slave owners and people who displaced families, killed countless innocents. And committed outright genocide need to come down. Or you're a massive hypocrite. Which is it.

It's not really about the statues. These fools just want to be about something since Trump won. They need to take a bath and get a job.

Interesting point. Attaching Trump to this weekend's protests was a stretch that I didn't think the MSM would go after, but sure enough they did.

Now that you mention this, attaching Trump to supporters of the Confederacy could be an act of desperation aimed at simply trying to tie him to a loss... even if it's 150 years old and has nothing to do with him or anything he's ever said.

This is going to get so so much worse before it gets better.

The media fanned the flames hard this weekend and emboldened the"counter-protesters".

They proved this weekend through three straight days of media coverage that the left is just and powerful and good and the right is evil and wrong. They payed both sides against each other perfectly. It empowered the pieces of shite. And your going to start seeing these violent protests and acts of vandalism across this country. And unfortunately some gun-toting KKK a-hole is going to show up when these people are tearing down a monument and run them down like fish in a barrel. Blood spilled from here on out is on the hands of CNN and the media and anyone who donates to and supports the psychotic fringe groups on either side.

We needed to ignore their little bitch fits and instead we called them out and strengthened them. I'm nervous for the next few months. This is going to get so much worse.

The establishment is making its move. They're coming for free speech and assembly. They're coming for the power they lost. And it should scare every American.

I hope someone can post pictures of the faces of everyone of those fascist sore loser lefties on the internet so we can identify them and they can be arrested for destruction of public property, malicious mischief and any other laws that they broke.

This is very true, and unfortunately misguided politicians pushing this idiotic statue removal has given all of those idiots something to be about and rally around for and against. Just a bunch of idiots without a cause until someone handed them one.

Hopefully ready to arrest them for vandalism.

Civil disobedience still has consequences, even if the statue deserves its fate.

If you were a traitorous shitbag racist who fought a slaveholders' rebellion against the US, you don't get a statue on public land.

Let's take Lincoln's lead on this, and frick Robert E. Lee and his confederate allies over every chance we get.
