I think the Rs should follow Obama's lead. They should simply make flowery speeches in full support, then do absolutely nothing, it appears to work well for Obama to secure AA and Hispanic votes.

Consider in states where the illegal immigrant populations are high, Texas is the only one to worry about. As long as enough is done to keep it red, the others don't really matter.
New Mexico is blue already. California is blue. Any illegals voting there won't make a difference in the electoral college.
R's just need to get about 40% or so of latinos imo to keep Arizona and Texas red.

I agree, Texas is ground zero.

Two other examples of this are Democrats on gun control and Republicans on abortion. They use these issues to rile up the base, but when they get in power, they don't do a damn thing about changing the status quo, at least at the federal level.

AAs and minority voters are a block reserved for Dems as of late and it has nothing to do with results.

Mostly because the battles were fought in the past and already decided. Guns are a constitutional right. Abortion was decided in Supreme Court. They are just talking points and I wish both sides would drop the social issues and leave it up to the states and focus on getting our nation back on track economically and with foreign policy.

Latino's are very conservative in many of their beliefs.
Unfortunately for the right, Latinos don't cast their votes based on their socially conservative beliefs. They tend to be more concerned about practical issues like the economy.

My man I'm far from a right wing anything. But I know that if I believed that I could spend eternity in Hell for my sins, I'd make damn sure I wasn't supporting a group that murders Gods most innocent . So Track fan,you believe in the Christian. God? And if so ,how you think God feels abort his unborn children murdered? I'm just curious how a Christian works that out in their mind.

they are a natural fit for the republican party. Its really the racists in the GOP that drive them away.
If the GOP can change its ways, and cater to them they could lock them up for the next 50 years. Immigration reform is a big one. Next would be to stop demonizing them as leeches.

Exactly right. Its so much about tone, and message. GOP completely whiffs on these.

Despite what a lot of the media says, many US Latino's are against blanket amnesty
Bingo! I busted my arse to legally become a citizen, I don't think someone should be able to get to be a part of the US without having to work for it.

The gop/conservatives screw up with latinos on dumb crap like the reaction to the coca cola ad in the superbowl
