And this is why cruz is the guy I want. I don't agree with him on some things, but he has a foundation to which he sticks to. He has conviction.

Paul is just a slack jawed yokel playing politics.

Let clarify something here. Is the voter ID idea a proposed federal law? Because there are already many states that require voter ID at the polls, GA being one state (in which I live).

Maybe Paul is invoking a state rights stance on this issue.

Though I disagree with his stance on this. He's attacking the Dems where no one else will, at their strengths. Pandering to minorities and delegitimizing Bill Clinton.

And establishing his minority bona fides. He's going to get slammed as we approach the primaries on his association with Jack Hunter and his dad's views on the 1964 CRA and his news letters. He trying to build up minority street cred. Hell, if Rand can get 10% of the minority vote that would be HUGE.

Rand Paul clarifies statement on US voter ID laws:

Rand Paul believes in voter ID laws. He just doesn’t think Republicans should talk about them so much.

3) He's competing for minority vote. 10% of minority vote is competing.

I am pretty sure romney got 10% of the minority vote as did mccain.

He's going to need these three to counter the white female voting block. Thats the most damning to republicans right now.

This is going to be the monolith in 2016 if HRC runs. Paul will have to at least do as well as Romney did with woman, and do better with blacks/hispanic/youth to win in a general. I just don't see that happening if HRC is the opponent, she will win woman 60/40 (obama won 55/45 in 2012). That large of a voting block going to one candidate will lock up the election for HRC.

Now if its biden, he has a legit shot.

but this conversation is immaterial, no way he gets through the primaries.

Lost my vote...the groups making the most of the voter ID laws are the Civil Rights pimps and their yes-men in the MSM

I damn sure wouldn't vote for anybody unless they supported voter ID laws...freakin common sense.Opposition to these laws is nothing but pandering.

I understand his point about perception, but having an I.D. in this time and age is no hardship. The same folks who say it's too hard to get and ID would wait all day in a line to get free stuff.
