First of all, I don't agree with protesting the national anthem and to me, disrespecting the flag. As a veteran who lost two very good friends in Iraq, I take it very personal. What's really bugging me today though, is performing these protest in a foreign country. It's one thing to do that in our own house, which we all know has many issues, but to allow this to happen on foreign soil is just on another level of disrespect and embarrassing. They kneeled for our anthem and stood for God Save the Queen!! How blatantly disrespectful. Unreal. This won't be talked about by any media, owners or players.

Why are we playing the anthem in foreign countries in the first place?

We shouldn't be doing that.

There are probably around 15 threads started today about this. You just want your 15 minutes? So many other threads to post this in and it would still be relevant.

We'll play the national anthem wherever we damn well feel like it, son.

I wonder how many people who take this so personal also drive around taking down flags in the rain or educating people who leave them out without a light during the night.

Methinks people really don't care about the flag as much as they are upset by the reason for the protest.

ETA - I don't mean any disrespect by this, I'm genuinely curious as to where people draw the line on the flag/anthem.

Take it up with Bush who sent them to that senseless Iraq war & not some guys kneeling at a ballgame over an anthem that probably shouldn't be played anyway.

I just think it's a legitimate issue to talk about. It's one thing to protest the anthem in our country, but to protest the anthem in another country is a whole different level.

Why not? Any time a Canadian baseball, hockey, or basketball team plays a game in a US citizen, both anthems are played, and it has been that way forever

All those Cubans protesting the Castro Regime in Miami were apparently not in the right then.

You really are being stupid with that one. The protest of a regime is completely different than protesting an anthem

I swear some people just are dumb as fricking rocks and want net badass cred
