thing is - public does have a say. if citizens don’t like the way in which the systems they own and finance are operated, citizens need to get involved to degree they can effect change.

That may be how those 2 major parties frame the “privatizion” of public systems of education to convince ignorant. Essentially is spoils system politics that divert public pensions, elements of medicare and medicaid, roads, prisons, etc. nada to do with good governance.

Anybody concerned about teacher pay and actual dollars in the classroom should support vouchers.

We spend in some parishes over $500,000 per year per classroom. Subtract the teacher pay from that and you will have a better idea how much the government bureaucracy consumes.
