I know this is already posted but this is a better explainer:

quote:

President Trump tweeted out earlier today that more “bailouts” for insurance companies should not be part of ongoing healthcare policy. And in a remarkable and righteous aspect our President also implies that without legislative reform, bailouts (subsidies) to their own personal healthcare benefits could also be stopped.

Yes, approach this could mean congress would have to pay the full amount of their own health insurance costs, just like every other American who makes over $150k per year.

All President Trump needs to do is tell HHS Secretary Tom Price to change a rule initiated by the Office of Personnel Management during the Obama administration that allows members of congress to receive subsidies like DC small businesses. That rule was a work-around to avoid legislation that required congress to join ObamaCare.

Members of congress, and their entire staff, exclusively get massive subsidies so they don’t have to feel the financial impacts of purchasing health insurance. Losing those subsides just might get their attention – when their bloated staff start shouting in their ears.

Right on. Unlike those Senators, Trump is going to keep his promise to the American people

Why do they get subsidies? They make far above the limit.

The obvious answer is, to offset health insurance costs. But you knew that.

When Obamacare was first passed congressional staffers complained that it was a financial burden. Instead of going back to congress and trying to pass legislation to financially help congressional staffers they figured out how do provide subsidies through administrative means. At least that's how I recall. Its probably more nuanced but I think I'm close.

Good for him. Only in America can a bunch of dbags vote for a forced sanction on the entire republic (that works!!) and then exclude themselves from the consequences of it. The establishment has to go one way or the other and I hope it doesn't get to Jefferson's word that blood must be shed. The constitution granted freedom to citizens through specific rights, not free healthcare, not free food, not free child support, not free college, but the freedom to support yourself as you see fit without infringing on others rights. We are far from that now and sadly I don't see it reversing trends any time soon.

The very fact that staffers were complaining about adverse effects of Obamacare was proof positive that this bill was a bunch of BS from the get-go.

It was designed to fail and it is working as intended.

Trump said more people were going to be insured with lower premiums.

None of the bills that have been proposed by the Republicans do that.

Is he going to keep his insurance promise the same way he said he was going to lock up Hilary and that he had the largest electoral win ever?

Funny, Obama said the same thing about health care. Even gave specific numbers. His team made a LAW that did none of that. Now you mock the person that has to fix it while fighting the people who helped create it.

Did you feel the same way about Obama as you do Trump? I have a feeling I know the answer.

Sorry, I'm not a lady. I don't have

feeeeewings....nothing more than feewings.

Who has feelings about politicians?

Either trump will keep his promise and insure more people than Obamacare with lower premiums or he won't.

So far he hasn't.

Sad!
