Now Fake Pope is commenting on G20 and American view of world. Pope Benedict needs to return from exile, the True Pope.

His concern for our foreign policy should be low on his list considering the corrupt and sick organization he supposedly controls. He has a tremendous amount of work to do at home and should stick to that.

In my experience and opinion, Jesuits are the lefty whacko/progressives of the little c church.

I'm happy to see more Jesuits being put in positions of authority in the Church.

Son of a bitch. What a week. Lately I've tend to avoid following stories about Vatican intrigue, because I already know who they are, and that I oppose them, and there's not much else to be done. But I've just caught up with a little Rorate Coeli, OnePeterFive, and American Catholic, and I almost wish I hadn't.

OnePeterFive probably rounded up the week best: " A Busy Week in Review: Vatican Edition." I'll summarize:

#1. Cardinal Müller gets demoted from being the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
#2. Cardinal Meisner, one of the four dubia cardinals opposed to Pope Francis (see below), dies, after lamenting to Cardinal Müller how upset he was over the demotion.
#3. Cardinal Pell, another key opponent of Pope Francis, is forced to return to Melbourne, Australia, to face charges about fondling boys in swimming pools in the 1970s. The charges seem dicey. ( LINK)
#4. Pope (Emeritus) Benedict makes comments to cardinals, ending with the line, "The Lord wins in the end. Thank you all." That was actually Wednesday of last week ( LINK), but as the writer notes, "Sort of an ominous thing to say, don’t you think? Makes you wonder if it appears to the Pope Emeritus that the Lord isn’t winning now... ."

... and of course...

#5. "Gaying it up at the Hotel Vaticana". I don't even have the words to comment on this. Of course Pope Francis knew about this though (it was probably the secretary of Cardinal Cocopalmerio), and doesn't seem to care. "The apartment belongs to a monsignor, who was caught red-handed. According to Il Fatto Quotidiano, he is the secretary of a cardinal who heads a dicastery of the Roman Curia and who had proposed the monsignor to become a bishop."

For those who don't know who the four dubia cardinals were:
quote:

This morning in Rome, it was revealed that four Catholic cardinals — Walter Brandmüller, Raymond Burke, Carlo Caffarra, and Joachim Meisner — had written a letter to Pope Francis on September 19th, 2016 — just ten days after the emergence of Francis’ own letter affirming the sacrilegious interpretation of Amoris Laetitia by the bishops of the Buenos Aires region.

Please vote Jude Law for Pope Pius XIII. Thank you.

The Roman Catholic Church has really become quite silly in these latter days. I wonder what Ignatius Loyola would say about all of this?

That being said the saddest part of this is that you genuinely believe you are sentenced to a lifetime of unhappiness and loneliness based on arbitrary religious tenants.

I am neither unhappy nor sad. I also do not find tenets of my faith arbitrary. I came to the faith as an adult after examining many facets. My journey was fairly long and arduous and not taken lightly.

I was a well informed, intellectual atheist who really questioned and really read through many sources and developed my faith initially as an almost scientific experiment.

While not always joyful I am much more so than most even given the trying situation I find myself in.
