A lot of people in Alabama are critical of the deals that were given to the auto plants, and point to millions in lost tax revenue, but that argument is disingenuous at best.

Without the incentives, there would be zero plants, 40,000 fewer jobs from the plants and their suppliers, and zero taxes.

Won't create much in American jobs.

My mom teaches at an academy in Tuscaloosa...over half her kids are German foreigners whose parents were brought overseas by the Mercedes plant to work there. That's about all they hire and German citizens

Considering the cost for Mercedes to do this, I think that says more about the quality of the local work force than it does Mercedes.

I'm not "worried" about any taxes. But for the record, the electric vehicles will qualify for federal electric vehicle tax credits for the end consumer, which does benefit Mercedes.

I'm just pointing out that Mercedes is getting the same deals as Tesla, but you guys selectively criticize on this board. The rules change depending on who's getting the benefits.
