So if me, a registered republican, lived in Seattle, my vote would never matter. So I now get paid for something that had an original value of 0.

That's why you see that percentage so high.

Add in the fact that over half of them don't vote in the first place and its not a bad deal for them.

What makes you think republicans dont have student debt?

Is it the case that the entire millenial generation is liberal?

Y'all realize every generation has voted liberal while they were young correct(as a majority percentage)?

So by taking away the millenials right to vote, that means when they get older and naturally more conservative, they won't vote. Yet, they younger generation at the time will still vote liberal. So basically you are guaranteeing liberal politicians for the future

What benefit does the Gov't actually gain by being on the hook for their 50k loan?

Nothing if there isn't a stipulation that removes their right to vote. If these people couldn't vote the people win

Well obviously that 50% needs to seek a refund from whatever institution gave them a degree.

So true but we have quite a few special short sighted people here in the base that frequent this board.

Why? Are voting rights worth the $37,000 an average graduate will owe in loans?

There would be a GOP President and Congress for the next 50 years if this happened

That said they only wouldn't be able to vote in the next 2 election. Who the hell wouldn't sign up for that?

i'd gladly give up my right to vote for student loan forgiveness. votes don't matter.. it makes good political theater though.

that number is rapidly increasing. 37k now. in 5 years probably 45k. in 10 years 50k. ad infinitum until the boomers have turned the millennials into debt slaves by design.

I have a 1 and 20 million chance of tipping a presidential election in Ohio. Lousiana's have a 1 in 5 billion chance.

Obviously local elections may be a different story, but based on the presidential election, a vote is worth very little, let alone thousands of dollars per election.

Get up to $55,000 in loan forgiveness.

Eliminate their right to vote for 10 years. They'll be level headed people by then.
