he's talking about converting to christianity. he's a christian. why would he want them to convert to anything else? he believes his religion is the only true one.

that wouldn't make any sense.

Well, at least you admit it.

You need to admit that the most likely and probable interpretation is that he's talking about conversion to Christianity. Phil Robertson is not a complicated man.

I guess you don't understand that he's an evangelical fundy christian
This is exactly like saying "He's a Muslim, therefore he's evil. Therefore we can extrapolate a benign, agreeable quote into something far more nefarious, not based on any context, just based on his Muslim religion." Exactly the same thing.

How can you not understand that is prejudiced?

to phil, muslims are wrong, his religion is right. end of discussion. as far as isis, he's saying that they need to convert (to his religion, the "right" one) or the US Gov needs to kill them.

So by that logic he wants all Muslims killed right?

You're an idiot. No where does Christ advocate killing infidels.

Why did he make the distinction and specify ISIS only? And how do you know his mind so well?

what was he talking about then? converting to what? given all we know about phil. what would you think he's talking about?

I've already answered this exact question when it was asked earlier. Quit ignoring answers and repeating the same questions over and over.

christ didn't, but his dad sure did:

quote:

Deuteronomy 17

If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

what do you think phil was referring to knowing what we know about his beliefs?

Widespread mainstream modern Christianity focuses on Christ and his teachings of tolerance and love. There's no Sermon on the Mount in the Qu'ran.

Again, I've already answered this. Since I've not heard him advocate for killing anyone else for not converting to Christianity, I'm assuming the simplest and most logical interpretation, not the sensational.

christianity is very different than islam in 2014, I agree. even moreso, the ones who take islam to a radical level.

all i'm saying is it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what phil was implying. and I would guarantee you he would have zero problems clarifying it to anyone who asked him.

maybe someone will ask him and he'll spell it out for you since that's apparently what you need to hear.
