The "memo", whether real or not, but an attempt by Comey to call Trumps bluff about the tapes. Hell, Comey stated as such.
That should have let everyone know that there were no tapes, which was my point, which has seemed to trigger a few of you.

Trump alludes to a tape. This forces honesty from comey. Remember, Comey had not yet agreed to testify in May, so the "memo" served as his side of the story. Ironically, it confirmed everything trump wanted to be made public from the start.
Without the tweet, who knows what the leakers and WaPo would have cooked up?

This works under the assumption that Comey actually feared there might be tapes. I think its obvious he knew they did not exist. Which has been my point in this thread.
