Oh, please so many " conservatives" that today are so against war, were ready to go and obliterate Saddam back in 2003-04 and eliminate Afghans as a viable ethnic group. Attitudes towards military intervention changed when the opposing party also adopted the pro military intervention stance. BTW, Bush never wavered on his justification of removing Sadam even when the WMD evidence became questionable.

But what we are talking about is the maturity level of so many of you. Someone who is a Democrat, says that she thinks highly of W as person. So that makes W a piece of shite for being nice to a person he does not agree with politically.....because he must treat her with utter disdain, right? Because she is Nancy Pelosi's kid? Or, he must be flogged because he was nice to the teenage daughters of Obama - or Michelle Obama.

Maybe W is mature enough to not have politics consume all aspects of his life....even to the extent that it should dictate whom he is friends with and how he treats people. You sort of remind me of an adolescent girl.....because even an adolescent boy could separate the two.

i'm no giant fan of him as a president, but i met him when he was campaigning for governor. my dad was in leadership with the local RNC and put on a campaign event. i was the only kid drug to the thing and he sought me out and talked to me for a while. at the time he owned the rangers and he talked about Nolan Ryan (my favorite player) with me. made a miserable experience for an 11 year old a bit better.

very personable and friendly.

Doesn’t Pelosi’s daughter know that W courted Christofascist and racist votes, the same people that put Trump in?

But that doesn't mean that you will like him after getting to know him. Hell, that's how we pick our friends, by getting to know a person.

the modern vitriolic political discord began with the rabid attack on GWB post 9-11. it seems like a lot of people, including W himself, have forgotten just how vile the Left got towards him. I used to have a lot of respect for the man, even if I didnt agree with everything he did. but his obsequious, sycophantic crawl back to the establishment by kissing the Obama ring has been disgusting to watch. Obama spent the majority of his presidency (and CERTAINLY his entire first term) blaming EVERYTHING on GWB, and in the most vile way imaginable. to see a man that i used to respect shuffle around in the Obama entourage like a little Pulp Fiction gimp has been one of the most disappointing things I've seen from a politician in my life.

and it's not about separating politics from personal relationships. you cant call someone all the things they called him, and then says "oh that's just politics". that's cowardly and a fricking copout.

Bible says, "Can two walk together except they be agreed?" Amos 3:3 Also, "Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1 Corinthians 15:33 Considering the brevity of life, unless you're spending time with someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum to change their thought process, your time should be better spent.

I guess I’m not naive enough to think that politicians actually mean the hyperbolic bullshite they spew on cable television.

I believe it’s actually incredibly easy to spew vitriolic bullshite for political theater/pander to cable TV watchers without damaging personal relationships, especially whenever everyone involved knows that’s the game.

So many on this board are immature when it comes to life and probably relationships. You don't have to agree with a person politically to like him/ her as a person.
and you are a dunderheaded retard with little understanding of any of the things you have ever posted here.

Your nonsense condemnations of others is laughable..

Didn’t Martin Sheen refer to W as a white knuckled drunk?

I’d bet you all the money in my 401k that he could yuck it up at some fancy banquet, etc with Schumer, etc., tonight, yea. He did it throughout his term, and makes a habit of giving access to beltway reporters who ostensibly do nothing but deride him. So yes, to a large extent public comments and exchanges are nothing more than theater. These people still all work together every day.

The younger sky screamers? Nah. They have no class and could never set aside political bullshite. That goes for both sides of the aisles.

I’ve never understood the belief that members of Congress, etc are not allowed to be people just because you dislike their politics and positions.

She followed W during the 2000 campaign and made a documentary about it called “Journeys with George.” It’s actually a pretty good behind the scenes look at campaign life. If you watched it, you’d see how they kind of had a fun relationship outside the scope of politics. It’s kind of cool that it’s carried on to this day.

Of course some on here can’t stand it just like people on the Left lost their minds that Ellen sat next to W at an NFL game.

Got you good on your nonsense about a national divorce which suggested that it was idiotic? You just want to search for shite to be outraged about.

because attacking someone as a human is not the same as disliking their politics. to me that isnt a "game". when someone says I am a racist, misogynist, homo/trans/whatever-phobe who hates everyone who isnt a white protestant straight male and that I want them to suffer, I dont think "oh that's just politics. i dislike their opinion about me, but we can still be friends".

not a chance in hell. the quickest way to cancellation is to even acknowledge that Trump might not be QUITE as evil as Adolf Hitler.

That’s the difference between you and someone who runs for Congress/federal office.

They are ok with the theater. They are fine playing a character publicly, and enduring others acting as opposing characters publicly, because it brings them power, wealth, and the insider social life they enjoy in DC.

Only a specific type of person does that. And those people can and do have two different personas.
