In case you weren't quite sure they all play on the same team!

W as a person is well liked by many people. The Clinton's, the Obamas, etc and it has nothing to do with politics. From what I understand from people that have met him and know him, he is just a super likeable guy who will separate politics from personal relationships.

Just doing what the Bushes do, their allegiance is to the elite community first and foremost. It doesn't matter who they are or where they come from as long as they fit the elite profile. Elites always stick by other elites. A good person who's an average Joe will never sit at the same table as Paul Pelosi, Hunter Biden, Heinz, Soros, or Bush.

GWBush's granpappy was more democrat than republican. Laura Bush and the daughters are democrats. I think the only reason GWBush is a republican is because of Texas.

If the Philadelphia Eagles owner’s daughter said Jerry Jones is a father figure, would that mean they play for the same team?

People can be friends and have drastically different beliefs… it’s actually something lost in our society and causing the majority of problems we have.

Abraham Lincoln once said “I don’t like that man… I must get to know him”.

Go have a conversation with someone that isn’t like you and that you think you won’t like. It will be good for both of you.

He is a piece of shite. Grew government to unheard of levels, started multiple wars and then ran to his ranch to hide after re-election as the press ran caskets coming home every night. Then when someone tries to somewhat walk back his middle eastern and economic idiocy, he shows up to attack hiding behind the same press.

He is easily one of the most despicable political figures of my lifetime. As corrupt a turd as Biden is, he's a far more honest crook than W.

I met him, and spent a small amount of time with him, back before he became governor. He is a very, very affable and likable man. I have trouble imagining that anyone could meet him, and dislike him personally.

Met his dad during the 1984 campaign, when he was VP. I would say the same of him.

you can't polish this turd with the fake establishment diplomacy. They are all friends. They are a uniparty. They are all democrats.

It doesn't make you wonder why all of the democrats are suddenly neolibs with the neocons? How many senseless wars so they get rich has to happen?

I’m not disagreeing with your premise, just don’t think this is the “gotcha” example. You could pick 100 others, I’d not more.

Just saying it’s not uncommon for people that spend time together to become friends, regardless of their convictions/ beliefs/ politics. And by uncommon, I really mean that it should be encouraged and sought after.

If you don’t have any close friends that have different beliefs, you are missing out. That’s all I’m saying.

Agreed, but that requires a certain “open-mindedness“ that many people lack.

So many on this board are immature when it comes to life and probably relationships. You don't have to agree with a person politically to like him/ her as a person.

I was friends with EWE and Stephen Edwards for years ( still friends with Stephen ) I did not necessarily agree with their politics, but they were very nice in person and on a personal level nice guys....especially Edwin.

Maybe so, but I’ve found it’s easy to let those people go from my life and immediately discount anything they say.

Pretty sure you and I are nothing alike, but I’d love to have a beer with you and I imagine we can find common ground and have a good time. Or, maybe just have a good debate and walk about both learning something.

Yeah, well when said person runs for and is elected to the highest office in the land and spearheads numerous political actions that not only dramatically affect your way of life but also send your nation's sons and daughters off to die for a cause you don't have the guts to defend, then that's a little bigger thing than just "not agreeing politically".

My brother is a flaming lib. His wife is a flaming lib. I avoid talking politics with both and have let both know I would defend their right to their own mind and opinions to the death. But let's not pretend that this is the same civilized political environment we both grew up in. One side has been actively censored and in many cases driven out of livelihoods for the crime of a simple political opinion. More than ever, politics is impeding on the lives of people in this country and W. Bush is a big, big part of why.
