I can see why no one likes it though.

I think it sucks, but at the same time I realize the bill is the only means to the end.

You are never going to get a full blown cannonball shot to the head. Your voice does not count more than the moderates voice do.

Pass this bill with some amendments for Cruz and Lee and then start there, win some more seats in the midterms and then keep chipping away at it to keep perfecting it. It's what democrats would've done and they've made an art out of that.

ObamaCare will be repealed by a thousand cuts, not a single stab in the gut.

I hate it, but Democrats are too invested in Obamacare.

If Obamacare can be repealed then at some point a good plan can be enacted. This move is important just to get rid of the O

Its a step in the right direction. This release is a draft, not the final bill. There needs to be some deliberation and some compromises made, but in the end this moves the ball forward.

Remember, this bill can only pass under reconciliation

It's hot garbage. But so is Obamacare.

So, we can choose original hot garbage, or new and improved hot garbage.

This

In order to get full repeal you have to first pass this bill perhaps with amendments. Otherwise it will never happen. A full repeal will take 60 votes and that just isn't happening right now. This bill is pretty much the first step to full repeal.

I still think a lot of the conservative opposition to this bill is bought & paid for by interests who want Obamacare to stay in place. Like I said controlled opposition. These politicians will fold like a cheap suit on issues like the debt ceiling, spending increases, omnibus bills, Paul Ryan for Speaker, etc. and only seem to take a conservative stand when it doesn't make sense.

No one likes it, that is what is so impressive about this.

Industry, liberals, Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, pretty much no one. Except rich people, rich people are probably pretty damn happy about it.

And as long as their donor class is happy, that is incentivize enough to try and get this through.

They could repeal this very simply if that was what they really wanted. They don't.

You all should stop fooling yourself. Repeal was never a reality and repeal was never goona solve all the problems people bitched about.

i honestly don't see how anybody likes this

like i said in the other thread, this moves the crosshairs from the DEMs to the GOP. they're taking all the political liability from the disaster that is the ACA away from the DEMs. now any and everything wrong with the ACHA moving forward till sink the GOP

nobody's going to like this bill

this is not a step to repeal the ACA. it's just going to become it's own behemoth

how the GOP is going about passing the bill is terrible

Since you say repeal is so easy where would the 60 votes come from?

I heard that McConnell let K-street see the draft before it was shared with conservative republicans.

That's total bullshite if true, no one elected K-street.

They are the instant gratification kids or the Rand Paul is god crowd.

If this bill could include everything that would fail the "Byrd Bath" rule, this bill would be a fantastic improvement from Obamacare.

It's funny how the "this isn't the hill to die on, we need to live to fight another day, we will get them on the next issue crowd" that plagued us during the Obama administration is all of a sudden taking a hard line on these things.

Like I said, controlled opposition

i have no association with either party and i'm certainly not a DEM

this is going to sink the GOP. this bill has disaster (from all angles) written on it. AT BEST, it becomes ACA vol. 2 and then grows into its own insane bureaucracy. this is not a step towards reducing government in health care or a step to repealing the ACA. AT WORST, this is going to sink the GOP in 2018 moving onward and they lose their control of Congress

there is just no upside for this piece of shitty legislation and a ton of downside
