And have someone with some balls replace him, like Jim Jordan. This Rinocare that Ryan and the other establishment types put forth is a disgrace and a slap in the face to the American voter.

I hate the plan, but they are trying to pass what they can. Without a 60 vote majority, they can't get the decent reforms passed, just the way they look at it..

It's gotta be tough for Ryan. He finally has the chance he's been waiting his entire political life to have to push through all his BS tax reforms, and his own party is close to rebelling against him.

The guy whose family reaped the benefits of federal government contracts and funded his college with SS survivor benefits. Such a fricking phony with a smarmy smile.

Write, call, and email your representatives and tell them if they support this fraud you'll be voting for whoever runs against them.

I don't think it 100% paid for his college. But his dad died when Paul was 16, and he received the benefits until his 18th birthday. Ryan has said he put every check he received into savings to pay for college.

I agree that there is no way they can get the 60+ votes to pass the type of changes that true conservatives want. But so what. Place a bill before the Senate that does have those conservative changes, and when the Dems filibuster it, let it not pass. Then in two years when Obamacare implodes, and insurance companies start dropping out, use their filibuster against them in the next election cycle as the reason that the healthcare system is in shambles.

Why take on the blame for a new healthcare system that most conservatives don't even want, when you can leave the current one in place (after the Dems refuse to let a conservative plan replace it) knowing it will fail, and the blood will be on the Dems' hands?

Coalitions people. Pragmatism people . You have to negotiate and bargain and pound it out with people in your coalition that annoy and infuriate you because the only other option is handing the keys to Chuck Schumer and going home. Don't go defcon one on day one or you just marginalize your own argument.

Dont have the votes in the House according to Jordan...I can see Paul. Cruz and Lee filibustering. It's stupid to try and ram thru an unscored bill.

Agree 1000%. It is good to see that someone here does understand the process. We are looking at "the art of the possible" being put into practice. Remembering that Trump is the big negotiator/deal maker, this thing is just the starting point.

Trump apparently is on board with the "Rinocare". Is he a cuck now?

Paul Ryan didn't want to be speaker the GOP begged him to take it because no one else could even win a majority of House members to their side.

We don't need them to do shite. All they need to do is repeal. After that we can work on cutting regs
