I'm for protecting both liberal statues.

Another example of pretty much perfect contextual placement.

Huey Long is a piece of shite that ingrained the corrupt culture that Louisiana practices so much and set the precedent for all powerful Louisiana Governors.

What are liberal monuments though? Martin Luther King Jr monuments? He was far more conservative than he was liberal. His father was a known Republican.

Cesar Chavez statue - Austin, TX (located southwest of UT Tower, near West Mall Office Building)
quote:
He has become an icon for organized labor and leftist politics, symbolizing support for workers and for Hispanic empowerment based on grass roots organizing. He is also famous for popularizing the slogan "Sí, se puede" (Spanish for "Yes, one can" or, roughly, "Yes, it can be done"), which was adopted as the 2008 campaign slogan of Barack Obama.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
We're getting to the point we're about to have to make three lefts.

How about Robert Byrd, the very well-known Democrat Senate leader who was formerly a member of the Ku Klux Klan?
The Grand Wizard has a statue in the West Virginia capitol. Apparently there is already a movement to remove it.
Another former liberal icon, whose statue has already been scheduled for removal, is Woodrow Wilson, Democrat who proposed the pacifist League of Nations, a forerunner to the United Nations, i.e. a burning tire around America's neck.
My alma mater, the University of Texas, is going to do this (and has already moved Jefferson Davis to the history museum, but when its exhibit was unveiled the liberal outrage kicked into overdrive again).

Cesar Chavez is a good one, he was highly opposed to illegal immigration because he realized it depressed wages.
That would not fly today. What's the Spanish equivalent for "Oreo"? (Black on the outside, white on the inside?)
I'm actually OK with the Barbara Jordan statue on the UT Austin campus. She was a fine lady and was a professor there.
