They had deals to kick back billions to Kenyan operatives and wash it back to Obama

Our President is really hurting their economy and soon Iran's leaders will be sending TRUMP love letters.

Maybe you have a better explanation as to why the he was sending billions in pallets of cash to the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism??

It was Iran’s money to begin with. It wasn’t as if Obama went down to the US Treasury vaults and sent the US goverment’s money.
As part of the Iran deal the US lifted certain sanctions against Iran, which thereby unfroze Iranian funds that had been earning interest since the late 70’s/early 80’s. This is a normal process with any of Sanctions programs administered by OFAC.
Specifically, when a US institution identifies a prohibited (by OFAC) transaction where there is a blockable interest in the transaction they will freeze those funds in an interest bearing account. When/if those specific sanctions are lifted they will release those funds plus interest to whoever owns the funds.
This is effectively what occurred as part of the Iran Deal. One can have qualms with the deal itself, but the cash sent was legal and was actually Iran’s money. As for why it was pallets of cash, pretty sure that had to do with the difficulty in sending wires from the US to Iran.

Facts don’t matter to this crew.

I’ll concede it was their money. We haven’t take that away. They still are bad actors, so sanctions go back on them. Where’s the beef?

I’ve got no problem with sanctions.
It’s the sitting President insinuating the former President gave them the money back for nefarious, ulterior motives that’s the problem.
But I actually like Trump’s putting the sanctions back on them.

At least we can agree on that. I always knew you were reasonable, despite some ideological differences.

Your eloquent defense of a U.S President's "deal" with the most egregious state sponsor of terror in the world does not rebut the question. Care to try again?

I didn’t comment on whether the deal was good or bad. I was simply answering the question regarding the much maligned “pallets of cash to Iran” talking point that Republicans and Trump like to talk about. Trump and others always view it as if it was ransom, pay-off, bribes, etc. or some other illegal movement of funds when in reality it was just releasing previously frozen funds as is always the case after sanctions are lifted.

This is another misunderstanding of the deal. While the Iran Deal did lift certain specific sanctions against Iran, there was still a significant amount of US sanctions against Iran. Even after the Iran Deal, the sanctions against Iran remained one of the most comprehensive sanctions programs administered by OFAC.

If it was such a great deal, why not send it to Congress for approval?

because it was their money that we held in escrow for 35 years for a failed military sale. 400 million was hte down payment announced in January of that year by the Obama administration in settlement of a 35 year long court battle, and yes, it was probably part of the Iranian deal to get inspectors on the ground monitoring Iran's nuclear abilities and although unspoken, yes, im sure it helped get the freedom of 4 hostages held in Iran.
but this is simple known stuff.
you just choose to repeat what Trump says like a well trained parrot and pull this cliche response in any thread involving Obama, Iran, Trump. Typical, expected, trite.
