Obamas under fire from the left for never ending, sizzling ultra-luxury vacations

The Democratic base is growing increasingly frustrated with former President Barack Obama’s actions after leaving office, including a seemingly endless tour of millionaire and billionaire luxury retreats, according to Democrats and activists contacted by Fox News.
Ex-presidents, understandably and un-controversially, go on vacations immediately after leaving office. But the level of luxury the Obamas enjoy on their vacations is unprecedented for a modern-day president, say travel experts.

Since leaving office in late January, Obama has visited late actor Marlon Brando’s private island; the Four Seasons in Bali -- where rooms cost upward of $2,000 per night; a Palm Springs estate; Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island; the exclusive Mid Pacific Country Club in Oahu; the 13th-century Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany; and the Rising Sun, Hollywood studio mogul David Geffen’s private yacht.
quote:
“I think the Bernie Sanders wing of the party, when they see President Obama, whom they instinctively want to defend being the corporatist president, I think it makes the base uneasy,” said Caddell.
Left-wing activists told Fox News they are troubled by what they see as a trend by Obama to distance himself from the base of the party. It’s not just vacations. The president also has enjoyed hefty fees for speeches to prominent Wall Street firms. It’s all part of a trend, they say, of Obama trying to join the fabled 1 percent.

All of them talk the talk but none, not even Bernie, walk the walk.

Good for him, if only he didn't demonize them.

They shouldn't worry, he will be back giving $500,000 speeches soon enough

Obama is a true limousine liberal.
He used the miseries of the unfortunate to accumulate power and subsequently wealth. Now he DGAF. "Later baws - I'm off to Fiji. Oh, don't forget Trump is a mean rich white dude."

People that criticize Presidents, especially ex Presidents, for vacations are retarded.

Is there anything the left doesn't complain about?
Who cares what the guy's vacation plans are?
It must be miserable to be so angry and bitter all of the time; I don't blame him for wanting to get away from his base of sycophantic malcontents.

He's a lunatic, but Ralph Nader does walk the walk. He claims that he's never owned a car or a television and lives on $25,000/year. I assume if that were bullshite we would have heard about it when he screwed the Demonrats in 2000.

I have no qualms about Barry's vacations. Same goes about Bernie's 3 houses.
But when these people preach on a platform of wealth re-distribution and a "how much does one guy really need" philosophy while living this kind of life they can go frick themselves.

He was a terrible President but there's no question that the job is stressful. If he wants to blow the millions of dollars he earned every year for his salary (hah) on vacations then he's free to do so and more power to him.
I wish he'd go on one long vacation after another and stay out of the political spotlight. I'm sure he'll be more inclined to do so as these Russian investigations hit closer to him with him.

Where was the criticism of Obama's luxury vacations while he was actually in office?
FWIW, I don't see the problem with his current vacations. He's rich and has lots of free time in his schedule nowadays. I'd be traveling the world in luxury too if I was worth tens of millions of dollars and had a schedule loaded with free time.
