We have at least 17% of the population that don't deserve to waste precious oxygen.

Because he was re-elected by a massive margin and Democrats have won the popular vote in 5 of the last 6 presidential elections?

2012 Obama win over Romney (3.86% margin of victory) was among the closest one-third of all presidential elections.
In terms of the electoral vote, only 396,807 more votes spread across 5 states and we're talking about President Romney.

Here is a good point, if 9/11 doesn't happen does Bush trend upwards without the debt of two wars and the negative effects politically of it and things such as the Patriot Act?
Also if Madoff doesn't scam so many millions of dollars does the economy tank as bad in his later years?

Madoff didn't tank the economy. Just the bank accounts of some unfortunate people.

A lot of people keep saying that Bush screwed up by going to war with Iraq but Democrats and Republicans were both for it. I don't understand how this can just be on Bush. (I don't think they should have went to Iraq personally)

No, 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq bought him that second term, without 9/11 I don't think Bush is re-elected in 2004.

I think that's a sign of how closely divided the country is- in terms of percentage of vote received Obama had the most decisive re-election since Reagan in 1984.
