In 2012 people were actually discussing the methodology and the flaws with each UE metric, expecially when only one is official when each gives a different percent.

You can break down each number and spin it however you'd like, but they're all there for consumption. The U-3 number that is reported is the same methodology they've used for decades. If you want to get into participation rates, U-6, etc., that is fair game, but people who argue it is bogus or made up out of thin air are clueless.

Agreed. My issue is that there is apparently nothing that can be considered objective or with any semblance of truth. Don't like some fact, just says it's fake or rigged. It's rampant on both sides, and until they changes, we'll be stuck in the same terrible political position.

And frankly, I think gridlock helped him.

That had to be a big part of it. Obamacare is pretty much hated even among a lot of left leaning voters.

His approval rating numbers are total BS. The guy isn't well liked.

Maybe some of us approve of him leaving office.

I sure do feel a lot better about him now that I know most of his policies can be overturned

Hmmm...

Polls conducted by liberal democrats.

Polls always favor liberal democrats.

Polls are then reported by liberal media.

Seems legit.

I believe obama's approval rating is as valid as the 4.5% unemployment figure. In other words, completely fictitious.

I have always believed that political polls are meant to influence not to inform.

His true approval rating was shown on last week and the American people gave the Republican Party all the power even though the party is fractured

They love him in Greece! About as much as BLM loves America.

Well, he did tell the world over in Greece a couple of days ago that people said he had done a good job. If nepotism is frowned upon in government appointments, then asking your wife and two kids "have I been a good president" should be also when taking the pulse of the nation.

Not long ago Military.com did a poll on him and he had a 15% approval rating with the troops.

If I ask the right 500 or 10000 people Obama could have a 100% approval rating.

Most of these polls are no longer trusted. They use polls to try and persuade public opinion. Orwell would be proud.

I can believe this one. He is being praised as one of the best presidents ever in the liberal community.

We know how far off the pollsters were about Trump, Hillary, and the election outcome. They were predicting a landslide in Hillary's favor and still aren't sure what exactly happened.

What are the chances they are also wrong about Obama's approval rating?
Because presidential election polls depend heavily on turnout projections, which apparently were off for this cycle. Presidential approval polls do not require any turnout projection. You just call people and ask their opinion--you don't have to determine whether they are likely to vote or not.

This. The fact that Trump won bigly literally against all odds tells you that many voters who previously voted for Obama are not happy with the current state of affairs created by Obama and the Democrats and voted Republican hoping that Pubs can improve conditions.

The U-3 number they've calculated the same way for decades is now bogus? Look, the participation rate is down, and if it was higher you'd have higher unemployment. However, the number itself isn't bogus, we just have a majority of idiots who don't know how to interpret the numbers and instead of learning they just throw their hands up and call it bogus.

I find it fascinating that 10% of those who approved of Obama still voted for Trump. That seems so illogical.

I dont believe the numbers...I do, though, believe in white guilt which is incredibly racist.
