How are republicans suppose to believe that he will enforce any border security measure passed. That is why the immigration bill didn't get brought up in the House last year. I mean he changed his signature legislation so many time unilaterally that he permanently cockblocked any chance it had.

Here is my solution:
1. Start the 13 yr clock once Congress has passed a border security bill
2. Form a committee that is made up of the 4 border state governors and select local law enforcement officers as well as representatives from the border patrol. They must meet 2-3 times a year and give Congress a report on the border. If they are not sastisfied the clock stops.

Build a Berlin Wall and then maybe I will approve legalizing the current illegals.

Why should anybody believe anything Obama says? And now he has poisoned the well for the next 2 years. There is no way the Republicans are going to work with him, and I don't blame them.

Because the border is tighter and he is deporting more than any president in the last 30 years?

It's true. But feel free to link to whatever site would support your theory.

They changed the method of computing "apprehensions" to make an apples-and-oranges comparison impossible, and in the process inflated the numbers.

The first Google link was to the LA Times. You are welcome to find more by yourself.

quote:

WASHINGTON — Immigration activists have sharply criticized President Obama for a rising volume of deportations, labeling him the "deporter in chief" and staging large protests that have harmed his standing with some Latinos, a key group of voters for Democrats.

But the portrait of a steadily increasing number of deportations rests on statistics that conceal almost as much as they disclose. A closer examination shows that immigrants living illegally in most of the continental U.S. are less likely to be deported today than before Obama came to office, according to immigration data.

Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the United States have fallen steadily since his first year in office, and are down more than 40% since 2009.

On the other side of the ledger, the number of people deported at or near the border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency's deportation statistics.

Nothing is going to get done. This is not the beginning, but it's an important moment in the story of how our grandchildren ended up in a country that's bilingual. I don't think it's the end of the world, but things are going to start changing faster now, IMO.

This "change" was made well before Obama was elected. So the comparisons are legit.

“Under the Obama administration, more than half of those removals that were attributed to ICE are actually a result of Border Patrol arrests that wouldn’t have been counted in prior administrations,” said Rep. John Culberson, Texas Republican.

“Correct,” Mr. Johnson (Homeland Security Sec. Jeh) confirmed.

Yeah the best play for the republicans IMO is to pass a series of bills that presents your argument and make Obama either sign them or veto them. If he vetos them you hang Hiliary or whomever the dem nominee is with trying to defend the vetos.

Also I would have Rand Paul, Kasich, and Walker etc taking daily spanish classes.

I bet you are stupid enough to believe that the Berlin wall was built to keep people out.

mmcgrath, you are now on tuba levels. People don't believe blatant liars. It's one thing to have an opinion on the matter, it's another to completely lie about the matter because only the lie supports your viewpoint. Not the truth.

I take it back. This is why you have no credibility. You are a liar.
