Seeing as to how us neckbeards are paying your salary and extensive benefits - you should be a lot more appreciative. You ever considered that if you weren't in the military that you might be a failure like the rest of us, according to you?

*We

My father always said I had a problem with gratitude and not extending it to people who lived long enough to feel entitled to it. He put it differently, of course, but you get the gist.

And as odd as it may strike you, most officers don't sit around thinking of ways to thank our poor-state residents for their contributions to the federal budget.

As an aside, I do remember the first 2/3rds of my life out of uniform. And I eagerly anticipate the next 2/3rds in blazers amd chinos and driving shoes. Much more comfortable.

But please, no third world parades. We have enough feigned patriotism and military worship in this country as things stand.

It is always entertaining to hear a bitter femme Seaman with an office job and a drinking problem talk tough.

How is this different than air shows or fly overs at football games or Fleet Week put on by the Navy?

As a former officer myself - and one who has actually fought in a war - you come across as an insufferable douchebag.

Be a better representative of the military, turd.

ETA: How do you think your commanders would think of you referring to "thank our poor-state residents"? I am guessing one or two come from those states. I also live in one of the - if not the most - giving states in the country to the federal budget. Shut the frick up.

I agree - BTW we need pictures of heel spurs - to explain to the younger generation how these painful buggers kept our wanna be hero's from serving in Nam.

I think it'd be awesome. We need to honor our military. We need to show them respect.

Can we at least do it on a workday?

Right, don't frick up a perfectly good holiday for The troops.
I always hated being in any parade or ceremony, even on a workday. Much worse if I was out there pounding the asphalt on a holiday.

These threads are great for identifying posters that have actually spent 6 hours on a hot day practicing "eyes right" and "pass in review."

frick that. I'd like my weekend, please.

Oh piss off, you self-righteous jackass. I was just busting his chops.

The red square parade idea really is dumb, though.

I oppose military parades

But for a simple reason

For the people supposedly being "recognized", it is fricking WORK!

They'd rather be home with their families
