Think of the Boston Tea Party as a protest against a very unpopular act/law/government practice. "No taxation without representation." They didn't dump tea overboard because they hated tea. They didn't do it to be disrespectful to the people who grew/harvested/brewed the tea. They exhausted all verbal and written political means to affect change and were finally driven to ACT (non violently). Many of the kneelers are protesting an unfair judicial system and "execution without due process". They feel driven to act in order to affect political change.(peacefully)

If you can see this as an issue that is sophisticated and nuanced, then maybe you can see the connection. If you're a 1 or 0 guy, probably not. By that logic one could argue that it's disrespectful to mandate standing (thereby restricting freedom).

Only problem was that the Boston Tea Party was a protest of a real grievance. This is a protest of something that is totally make believe.

Look, if these guys all had foundations and were out in the inner cities speaking out against crime and hate, and REALLY had exhausted other means, you may have a point. That's not the case here. Making an arse of yourself and virtue signaling on twitter doesn't make one a civil rights hero

The American flag and our National Anthem are official symbols of our country and for what it stands.

Tea is a tasty beverage.

It's really hard to be sympathetic for a group of pampered millionaires.

I wonder how many of these NFL protestors have offered to pay the defense fees of someone they don't know and considered wrongfully accused? That would be a non-hypocritical step in the right direction.

Seriously. It's getting to the point where ignorance is literally too common.

Bogus. Almost all of these 'victims' were either armed or attacked police, sometimes both.

We will never make any progress on this subject if people keep telling others that the oppression they face is a figment of their imagination because either they don't experience it or don't want to believe it's true and skew statistics to support themselves

I know hands up dont shoot and all but I expect to be "murdered" by police if I forcibly rob a convenience store, attack the responding police officer in his car, go for his gun and then charge at him while he fires non lethal shots to try to abate my charge....

But im a white guy perhaps i just expect these consequences because i dont have black privilege??

We'll never get anywhere until people start taking responsibility for their actions.

THAT'S NOT THE POINT IDIOT. The whole problem trump and other logical and informed people have with the players kneeling during the national anthem is that it is disrespectful to the anthem of the country that gave them the freedom to play football and make millions of dollars to play a fricking game. It's the fact that they are disrespecting armed forces that sacrfice so much, including their fricking lives in some cases for this great country that they are living in, the very people that protect their freedoms, they're spitting in their faces. They're uneducated and ignorant people who are doing this crap. What social injustices and freedoms are denied blacks because of their race? What freedoms do whites have that blacks don't have? None! This is a stupid "protest" by stupid people, which was started by a dumbfrick in Colin kaepernick. It's not backed up by any statistics or information at all. Blacks are not being discriminated against is the point. To disrespect our country's national anthem over something so stupid and ignorant is just that. If they don't like they way that theyre treated then ik what else to do. There's absolutely no special treatment given to one race over another in this country period. If you want to provide some actual information to back their arguments then please do it because I would love to see it.

Skew what statistics. Provide info to substantiate your claims of injustice or shut up. It's ridiculous and people are getting tired of it.
