That's not true. I am not hostile toward the poor, I am hostile toward the lazy asses that sit around and draw welfare and still expect more free stuff.
I have no issues with the working poor.
My issues come from the fact that I want everyone to be treated equally. No subsidies for some people for insurance (put a price list of types of insurance out there and levels of it if need be). If they can't afford the lowest levels then so be it. It is INSURANCE. Google how and why insurance got started and explain why it should be a right.
Taxes should be a flat rate for everyone, no floor for exemption. There is no reason that someone should be getting back more tax money than they paid in.
Why should people that do not have the skills as someone else be expected to have the same lifestyle as others that do have those skills? Welfare should be a minimalist program, not a equality one. It should be a program to keep you alive but make you WANT to go out and do better, not to make you happy being on it. That is where my issue lies.

yall are ridiculous. Have you been to japan? I got a breakfast buffet once and it was a $100.
Several of my meals there, and they were not fancy or liquor laden, were easily $200 a head.
At least at my corporate gig if you keep it under a $100 a head there isn't much of an issue, and you only really start to raise eyebrows at $250 a head. And this is for a dinner on a tuesday.

Are you raising the eyebrows of the poors outside looking in"
Last paragraph of Animal Farm:
quote:
Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

He's the President and the Leader of the Free World. What is he suppose to eat? Ramen Noodles? POTUS is a prestigious position. You don't feed the POTUS, the Queen of England, or any other important figure cheap food. Gosh! I wish they would fix the education system in the US, it's creating too many retards.

President Obama’s first stop on his week-long Asia trip had him dining — and spending — at one of Tokyo’s most prestigious sushi restaurants, Sukiyabashi Jiro. Dining with Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, the $293-a-plate (¥30,000) establishment was reportedly the president’s choice.
So?

I guess the OP wanted the POTUS to bring a sack lunch with him to eat while dining with the Japanese prime minister. I mean really is this the best they can do to show hypocrisy on his income inequality stance?

Here's a thought. No POTUS will ever live a cheap lifestyle. The lifestyle comes with the office. The more you understand that the quicker you wil realize of you'll never prove hypocrisy by comparing his lifestyle to everyday Americans.

Again.... No one has suggested he eat ramen.
The problem isn't what he eats.
The problem is he lectures that others have too much. While he himself displays an excess.

And most have no problem with that, but I don't want to hear a lecture telling me that our system isn't fair, and that because I have two cars I'm greedy, or that people applying for jobs should be given preferential treatment over others because of what my ancestors did in the Civil War.
People expect the president to be treated like a king, they just don't expect him to act like the Pope.

And they have him set up in the best house in DC to boot.
If he's going to lecture about inequality, maybe he really needs to be in the White Apartment. That'll show him.

I agree with this. Our politicians, especially our president, gets treated like a fricking roster. When in reality, he should be leading the example he wants the evil CEOs to follow.

Wow. So should the President ride a scooter because he's against driving gas guzzlers and get rid of Air Force One and fly commercial too? How about rent out rooms in the White House to pay off the national debt like regular people who take in boarders looking to help make ends meet? I mean really guys. Is this so hard to understand? Y'all are really missing the fact that he the freaking President and Presidents have to live a certain lifestyle rather they want to or not. He can't do regular people stuff because he President.

Into whose hands did all of that money fall? We can be assured that they are friends of Bozo from the get go.
