How can you not see that the strobe gif was posted with the intent to cause physical harm through induction of a epileptic seizure?

Are you defending an internet troll that intentionally gave a journalist an epileptic seizure because they disagreed about politics?

Considering that so-called journalist was Kurt Eichenwald, then yes. 100% yes.

Although CNN did not out they guy, they went out of their way to list his Reddit username multiple times in their statement. They had to know that some other entity could easily out him without them having to do the dirty work, and I think that is exactly what their intention was.

Maybe. But the guy was bragging about it on Reddit...I only saw it there because I clicked a link from a thread on here about the GIF's supposed creator. So if another entity besides CNN wanted to dox him, they probably would've already known his Reddit username without CNN's help.

Well hell... So, the FBI can get around to arresting someone over sending someone else a gif but they haven't been able to do anything about the African Princes and phishing stuff for years...

Photosensitivity as an adult epileptic is pretty rare (considering only 3% have it even as children and many grow out of it). Such a person wouldn't be able to look at a regular computer screen for long periods of time.

All that to say, tweeting a strobe gif is a lot like pretending to poke someone in the eye and Eichenwald responds as if his eye was gouged out.
