When Newsweek journalist Kurt Eichenwald opened an animated image sent to him on Twitter in December, the message “You deserve a seizure for your posts” appeared in capital letters along with a blinding strobe light. Mr. Eichenwald, who has epilepsy, immediately suffered a seizure.
Late Monday, Eichenwald took to Twitter to publish his filed legal motion and address his alleged attacker: “I’m coming for you, you son of a bitch.”
On Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it had arrested John Rayne Rivello, 29, at his home in Salisbury, Md., and accused him of sending the electronic file. The agency charged Mr. Rivello with criminal cyberstalking with the intent to kill or cause bodily harm.
The charge could carry a prison sentence of up to 10 years, according to the United States district attorney in Dallas, who is prosecuting the case.
Can't *FATHOM* why the trump/cnn meme creator shite his pants when CNN contacted him and issued an EFFUSIVE apology for all his transgressions.
CANT IMAGINE.

Another thing I've been thinking about
Although CNN did not out they guy, they went out of their way to list his Reddit username multiple times in their statement. They had to know that some other entity could easily out him without them having to do the dirty work, and I think that is exactly what their intention was.

Is this really a law? How do you kill or harm someone over the internet?

Are you defending an internet troll that intentionally gave a journalist an epileptic seizure because they disagreed about politics?

Strobe light gifs can cause seizures for epileptics which can result in death.

well, strobes can cause someone with epilepsy to have a seizure. If the sender knew this could happen then he caused intentional harm. It's not a laughing matter.

The FBI probably arrested him with no evidence.
