While ABC, CBS and NBC on Monday and Tuesday found time to celebrate the return of “easy-going,” rested Barack Obama to the public scene, none of them covered the release of a blockbuster expose that exposes the buried secrets of the ex-President’s Iran deal giveaway.

Politico senior investigative reporter Josh Meyer authored a more than 7300 word bombshell showing that Obama secretly released 21 Iranian prisoners (not the seven originally claimed), men who were deeply involved in Iran’s missile and nuclear program. On Tuesday morning, despite a combined eight hours of air time, ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and NBC’s Today avoided the topic.

It was left to Fox News to cover the story. Meyer appeared on Happening Now and explained the real story behind the prisoner swap that propelled the nuclear deal:

The three evening shows on Monday ignored this blockbuster expose. Instead, journalists gushed about Obama’s return. CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley hailed, “Today, the man who never lost a presidential election made his first major appearance since leaving office.”

On Tuesday, CBS This Morning’s Dean Reynolds lauded, “Mr. Obama re-emerged yesterday with an easy-going manner that only a former president can appreciate.”

i think this has as much to do with timing (dropping this story to interrupt the major headlines they had pre-prepared about Obama) as politics

I thought this had to do with the old movie rental business coming back from the dead.

This is the most amazing part of the story:

quote:

The Obama administration secretly arranged a plane delivery of $400 million in cash on the same day Iran released four American prisoners and formally implemented the nuclear deal, US officials confirmed Wednesday.

quote:

The money was flown into Iran on wooden pallets stacked with Swiss francs, euros and other currencies as the first installment of a $1.7 billion settlement resolving claims at an international tribunal at The Hague over a failed arms deal under the time of the Shah.

Obama just sent the Iranians pallet loads of cash. Not money transfers that might be tracked. But airplanes filled with cash that could be spent on anything; to a country whose government is known to support Terrorism and publicly cries for "Death to America".

Worst president ever.

It saddens me that in 30 years my grandchildren will be reading in their school textbooks about how great of an American hero this empty chair was.

probably correct. it still blows my mind that POLITICO reported this. Josh Meyer had best not take a walk or go jogging-- and accidently get robbed without anything missing.

my bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R my bologna has a second name it's M-E-Y-E-R. I love to eat it everyday, and if you ask me why I'll say cause Joshie Mayer has a way with INVESTIGATING REPORTS AND WANTING TO LIVE.

okay so the ending didn't rhyme. sue me.

No, it will never end. The media has the same agenda as Obama.

Meanwhile, my conscience is crystal clear. I've been telling the truth about this anti-American, race-baiting POS community agitator for almost a decade now. I recognized the sorry bastard for who & what he is almost immediately.

how long until they start pushing the narrative that he should be president again?

I say less than 6 months.

I give Politico a lot of credit, they take their shots at everybody and they cornholed Obama on this one. With the level of detail they reported and the quotes they had this is was a Deliverance level political molestation.

Along with the "why Hillary messed the bed" book this has been a heck of a year for putting the boots in to politicians.

This story by politico is illuminating. The media didn't cover the obama administration is train critically at all.

Democracy dies when the 4th estate colludes with one party.

This is the most amazing part of the story:

I thought the most amazing part (that I read.. didn't finish it) of the story was the years of work by the Justice Department that Obama had no problem sabotaging.

quote:

Three of the fugitives allegedly sought to lease Boeing aircraft for an Iranian airline that authorities say had supported Hezbollah, the U.S.-designated terrorist organization. A fourth, Behrouz Dolatzadeh, was charged with conspiring to buy thousands of U.S.-made assault rifles and illegally import them into Iran.

A fifth, Amin Ravan, was charged with smuggling U.S. military antennas to Hong Kong and Singapore for use in Iran. U.S. authorities also believe he was part of a procurement network providing Iran with high-tech components for an especially deadly type of IED used by Shiite militias to kill hundreds of American troops in Iraq.

The biggest fish, though, was Seyed Abolfazl Shahab Jamili, who had been charged with being part of a conspiracy that from 2005 to 2012 procured thousands of parts with nuclear applications for Iran via China. That included hundreds of U.S.-made sensors for the uranium enrichment centrifuges in Iran whose progress had prompted the nuclear deal talks in the first place.

quote:

And as far back as the fall of 2014, Obama administration officials began slow-walking some significant investigations and prosecutions of Iranian procurement networks operating in the U.S.

quote:

“Clearly, there was an embargo on any Iranian cases,” according to the former federal supervisor.

quote:

This has erased literally years — many years — of hard work, and important cases that can be used to build toward other cases and even bigger players in Iran’s nuclear and conventional weapons programs,” said former Justice Department counterproliferation prosecutor David Locke Hall, adding that the swap demolished the deterrent effect that the arrests and convictions may have had. “Even though these men’s crimes posed a direct threat to U.S. national security, the [Obama] administration has essentially told them their efforts have produced nothing more than political capital that can be traded away when politically expedient.”
