I think this means that trump is turning on manafort. The national enquirer was at the forefront of turning on Mike Flynn earlier this year.
I guess they foresee manafort going down.

Trump is close friends with David Pecker of the Enquirer. Joe and Mika said Trump offered to spike a story with the Enquirer before to have them back down on their negative coverage of him. If the Enquirer is publishing this it's not without Trump's approval which means that Trump thinks Manafort has flipped.

The interesting part is that the owner is a friend of Trump, and has been show to use the tabloid junk against opponents, and likely wouldn't target someone closer to Trump without his blessing. Although I'm not sure why anybody would care about the stories themselves.
In addition, maybe the timing is coincidental, but it is interesting this came out the same day we found out about the FBI raid.

What makes this interesting is Trump's friendship with the owner, how Enquirer posts stories in relation to Trump's interests, and the timing given the news of the FBI raid.
