I served as a Senator for 8 years under Reagan and witnessed a Presidential Executive Order. What we are seeing Obama do is NOT what it was intended to do and is unconstitutional. When we had a bad flood in North La.in '83 and the Federal highways between Bastrop and Monroe and Monroe going towards Ferriday and St. Francisville to B.R. were all underwater. I'm sure many of you will remember that. The current budget for highway repair and work was already allocated and spent, so, what Reagan had to do was issue an E.O. to stop the spending on a project and reallocate it to flood assistance. Instead of blacktopping a 4 lane, we would dredge a more southern canal at Harrisburg and Vicksburg, plus opening up a lock and dam in Harrisburg to relieve the water off us in North La. into the Red and Mississippi rivers. That was an E.O. change that was intended to help a crisis, not a political/Liberal issue. The law was followed by Reagan. He came to Monroe at the Town and Country subdivision area on 165 north of Monroe. One of the best days I ever spent in my life.

EO's have been used for political purposes since the beginning of time. That's just a fact. This boogieman Fox News stuff that some of y'all fall for as often as you do is a big part of the reason a big chunk of the right wing is seen as crazy by the majority of Americans.

If you have an issue with the EO system in general that's fine but Obama isn't doing anything that hasn't been done.

I said if you have a problem with how EOs are used and have been used that's fine. Criticizing Obama for how he uses them is fine too. Just don't act like Obama is doing anything new because he isn't.

Obama doesn't say it nicely though.

"I will do what I have to, to help the American people and push these policies through"

*rest of sleazy politicians stand up and clap like he is a celebrity*

Trust me Mr President, we don't want anymore of your policies. Obamacare is enough, thanks.

Which law exactly was it that Reagan was following? The law that says its OK to reallocate federal spending for whatever you please so long as you're the President and its for a good cause?

Dude, if he served for 8 years, he saw a hell of a lot more than "a" Presidential Executive Order.

Plus, we all take turns complaining about how stupid people in the House and Senate are. It's not far fetched.

If he served for 8 years, there is no need whatsoever to refer to fox news. Right?

If he served for 8 years, any reference to FNC is a complete total unequivocal troll, right?

Which is proven by the fact that Fox news is struggling in the ratings.
On the other hand the left wing is so beloved and admired that it's principal mouthpiece, MSNBC is soaring in the ratings.

The way Reagan did it was, he took a black top project already low bided to a contractor, delayed it a few months into next year. Took the money appropriated for this year and reallocated it to the Vicksburg Corp of Engineers to dredge a canal and open up a lock and dam by the Corps to get the water off the flooded area. An Executive Order did those changes for an emergency. That type of change was what I was always told an E.O. was for. I heard him tell the Colonel of the Vicksburg Corps to do that and the letter would be forthcoming when he flew back to Washington.

Whoa now, slow down. We're talking about people being ignorant. Fox News does a good job of creating those people. So does MSNBC. Anyway, bringing them up all the time is annoying, but so is hearing "ZOMG your lord and savior BARACK OfrickBAMA".

We all get pissed off and spout stereotypes.

How are Obama's orders unconstitutional? All you did in your OP was ramble.

Btw, only two executive orders out of 13k have ever been ruled unconstitutional.

You are intentionally misleading the data, the same way the media does. You are a lawyer, there are two kind of crimes misdeamenors and felonies. However both are crimes, so I could mislead people by claiming one person has comitted 5 crimes and one has only comitted 1. The sheeple will jump up and down and claim the man with5 crimes clearly is worse. However as you dig deeper one might find out that the mans 5 crimes were for speeding or trespassing, whereas the other mans crimes was child molestation. Now as a lawyer you will not explain this as such the media doesn't either with EOs. They just post a number and say look, the same thing you did and the sheeple will believe.

Are you attempting to claim that all EO are the same? If not then it is clear the number of them shouldn't really be the main focus!

Do you think any EO would be unconstitutional? If so what would be?
