This wasn't a surprise to them, they attended this exhibition knowing full well what would be shown and intending to do what they did.

There's even a book that depicts their prophet as a pedophile. It's so vile, it must really piss them off. Can't remember what it was called. Oh yeah....the Koran.

The issue I have with Muslims and Islam is many of them are of the opinion that things mocking them shouldn't exist anywhere. Simply walking out and not being subject to the mockery isn't good enough, it can't exist and they have to enforce their will on everyone else. frick that whole religion.

why? Religion deserves to be mocked.

Its belief based on bad evidence or none at all or espouses tenets/laws that are some of the most immmoral decrees people used to guide their lives and in any other discourse between thinking people both of those would be ridiculed, and deservedly so.

Fundamental religious ideology inherently skews rational thought. Just think of all the American Christians who say they are being oppressed because of homosexual marriage and the lack of theocratic legislation, or the Hindus in India who throw a shite fit every time someone suggests modifying the caste system.

Fundamentalism turns otherwise intelligent, rational people into mindless radicals.

I actually didn't know much about the Islamic faith until they acted like a group of wild baboons on PCP when South Park showed an image of Mohammad.

And it wasn't just the "radicalized" Muslims, it was all of them. Not a single Muslim had a sense of humor nor defended the right to free speech. After that, frick that whole religion and anyone who practices it.

Certain religious ideas deserve to be mocked. The belief that women should be forced to wear traditional Islamic garb and be completely subjugated by men deserves to be mocked. The belief that gay marriage should be illegal because the Bible or Koran says so deserves to be mocked. The belief that black skin is a curse from God deserves to be mocked.

Simply believing in God and deriving comfort and meaning from that belief shouldn't be mocked though.

Being forced to participate in ceremonies you are against and a voluntary viewing of some shitty movie are not comparable. But if you mean to compare it to homosexual marriages being legal, period, then I agree.

I didn't say they were. This is not happening in America, and I vehemently disagree when it happens in other nations.

why not

again its belief on bad or no evidence.

does saying I believe in unicorns and find comfort in their magical powers not deserve ridicule.

not a shred of difference in the two positions.

Because believing in God in and of itself is harmless and it's the only thing keeping some people on the straight and narrow.

Based on the number of religious people who say that without God they would rape, murder and steal I am personally glad that they have their beliefs.

How do you get people to be moral and decent if there's no God and life is meaningless? It's a complicated answer, even to me it's tough to understand. And there are millions of people with half my IQ.

Would you rather be savagely beaten to death, or not be? Would you rather be raped, or not? Would you rather be robbed, or not?

Every single person alive has the same answer to those questions. That's how.

You think the concept of empathy - just saying the golden rule - is as convincing as believing in an omnipotent deity who's always watching?

I don't.

3500 post and im an alter.

another in a long line of your stupid trolling posts

why do I care?

Because think of all the good in the world that could be done with the time/money investment while moving on to bettering humanity instead of believing in fairy tales that are made to control thru fear and guilt.

For me? No.

But I'm not the only person in the world.
