DEARBORN (WWJ) – A Muslim man from Dearborn is suing Little Caesars for $100 million claiming he was served pepperoni made with pork, which is a food prohibited by Islamic law.

Mohamad Bazzi says he ordered halal pizza twice from a pizza shop on Schaefer in Dearborn. He claims the boxes were labeled “halal,” but the pizzas inside were topped with regular pepperoni.

According to the lawsuit, Bazzi ate the pepperoni without realizing it was pork. The suit includes a copy of a complaint filed with the Dearborn Police Department following the alleged incident.

Watch the video in the link. This is dead serious. Why do so many muslims live here? Any particular reason?

I may sue several good steak house restaurants because they didn't tell me meat was in my salad on Good Friday. Should I go for 300MIL?

I laugh at that crap - SO if there is something about eating pork that prevents you from everlasting life, or even 72 virgins, then I think I'd be more careful that trusting eternity to some teenaged kid in a pizza joint.

sure, the $100 million is a ridiculous number, but its shitty of little caesars to mark something as religiously appropriate if it actually isnt

So, are you upset that this is a frivolous lawsuit or because a Muslim is submitting the lawsuit.

Maybe just the word "Muslim" has you triggered?

I guess only non-Muslims should be allowed to bring frivalous lawsuits?

Some of y'all need to relax.

Shitty of the employee, I doubt corporate told anyone to do that. The employee was likely your average fast food/low end restaurant teenager and/or idiot. Also about a 90% chance he or she was stoned.

A pizza box may have been properly mislabeled. The pizza box could have said 'non halal.' Who knows?

Suing for a possible mistake over beef or pork pepperoni is ridiculous. Like I said, it would be like a Catholic suing because meat was in their salad on Good Friday. It is ridiculous, no?

But the employee is an agent for Corporate. So corporate is responsible for the actions.

I'm curious- what if there is video of some stoned kid saying, "watch me put this pork in this muslim's order." If this was proven to be intentional, what would the boards reaction be?

Is it worth $100 million. Hell no.

But it is a legitimate legal and civil issue.

Eating pork is not going to send him to hell. The whole Allah thing has that covered.

No... for Muslims, eating pork is on par with abortion for Catholics. It is a big deal for them. Even if it seems irrational to us, it is a big deal for them.

ETA: I mean, intentionally eating pork. Accidentally eating pork is probably a non-issue religiously, but would still be very upsetting mentally to my Muslim friends.

i think we are all in an agreement that this is a frivolous lawsuit that they really have no way of proving actual intent, but that doesnt make it not shitty

can you tell the difference between pork and beef pepperoni by just looking at it on a pizza?

I hope this came from the top and the ceo did this on purpose - if so this is a real American business standing for freedom against religious persecution and sharia law - this board should support them

Even if that is a true comparison, which I doubt. He didn't intentionally eat the wrong pepperoni.

Any restaurant chain that claims to cater to either the Muslims' or Jews' anti-swine bullshite deserves all the headaches associated with trying to please either/or both.

Totally ridiculous trying to do this - setting yourself up for failure. Whomever it was who approved such nonsense should be fired.

Let the mom and pop niche joints cater to the pork bigots.
