And that empty suit beat 2 republicans.
An honest re-telling of 2008 would be that (then) Senator Obama beat President Bush handily. The two Republicans were simply the sacrificial lambs that are recorded in history.

This audio tape from 40 years ago isn't going to sway many votes. At this point, most people have their opinion already established of Hillary Clinton. So again, meaningless. The emotion being fueled up is by those who already have their minds made up on her.
She has a lot of baggage, her largest being, IMO, her age and health history, followed by her time as a senator/secretary of state/etc.
She was beaten by an unknown in 2008. It could happen again.

In the article from the Huffington Post, it indicates that this came up during the 2008 election cycle as well. Wonder who dug that up during the Democratic primaries?
Today is the first I've heard of this and I followed the 2008 primaries VERY closely. Also, it's pretty obvious from the OP video that Chris Matthews had never heard the story before, and no one follows Democratic politics closer than he does.

I'm sorry but if Hillary wants the spot, there's no way any other Democrat is taking it from her.

I will bow to your understanding of their primaries.
This is a non issue to me because I would never vote for her and see her as a fake from start to finish.
Will admit though, if someone decides to throw their hat in the ring against her I anticipate seeing a commercial that incorporates her laugh into it many, many times.

Tapes that were recorded at least 8 years after the case was tried. This will enrage any voter who already dislikes Hillary Clinton. The segment of the population who, after 25 years, is still undecided on their opinion of her is likely extremely small.

Which was said before they gave her spot to Obama last time.

She was the front runner but nothing like this. Once campaigning starts, she would have been the front runner for what, 4 years?

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. She has more baggage this time than she did last time.

Hillary's war on women.

Not saying that at all. Only saying this story doesn't have as much weight as some think it does.

Jesus H. Christ, the attitude some of you have about rape is absolutely pre-historic.

The only Dems I see that could potentially get in her way are Elizabeth Warren and the Castro twins.
I don't think she will take things for granted like she did in 08.

If she was directly asked about the victim and laughed about her, then I'd have more of a problem with it.

Your right about the 2008 election. I think any decent D would have won that one. McCain was the sacrificial lamb. Not so sure about the second election though.

Well that's mostly because I haven't been a big fan of most of the GOP leadership the past few years. I did like Romney and still do. I'm also more socially liberal than most Republicans. I don't vote based on social issues however so that's why I still support the Republican Party.

Warren will be pushed by the left wing of the Ds, but the party knows she can't win a national election. And she will not run against HRC. As for the Castro twins--I would not be surprised to see one of them as her VP. This is all if she runs.
