LOL. Seriously. As if changing what word you use suddenly makes the connotation associated with whatever new word you choose go away.

This odd belief has always amused me.

Would they (or do they if it still comes one) censor about half of what Archie Bunker says when he gets on a good rant on All in the Family?

Heck, they did it with Liberal. Liberals are now progressives, and will correct you if you call them otherwise.

Well that sounds retarded to me. Although I must admit that thinking of a homonym to fit the occasion appropriately is just rattling around in my head.

Blazing Saddles has to garner the most bleeps in a movie ever broadcast today. Amos and Andy got put into the closet where homosexuals used to hide along with Sambos resturants.

I'm still wondering. What term would the link like people to use when referring to homosexuals? Will that term suddenly make people who aren't fans of homosexuals not realize that the new term means the same thing?

Exactly. The PC Police keep chipping away.

The funny thing is, I still haven't seen a single incidence where any derogatory term that would be applicable to me has been denounced by these folks. I mean, if PC really is an attempt to take a stand regarding man's inhumanity to man, wouldn't it stand to reason that these wonderful folks who promote political correctness would be equally offended by ANY derogatory word or term being used against ANY person of ANY race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc?

If I didn't know better, I think I would be highly skeptical of these PC advocates.

I went through all this with the civil rights PC development.

I never - ever - used the 'n-word' to refer to a person (I will admit to using it in jokes just like I use 'aggies' 'wet-back' 'pollocks' 'dago' etc in ethnic jokes. - that that is only amongst my personal friends who know me well without reliance on arbitrary word-constructs developed by strangers)

As for the 'n-word' - I started off saying Negro, but soon changed, because it sounded too much like the 'n-word,' to saying "colored" ala NAACP.

Then came the Mexico City Olympics and "black power" and "black is beautiful" became the rage, so I changed to saying "blacks" because I thought that is what 'they' wanted to be called.

Then came "african-american" and I said 'wait just a minnit' - this is stooopid. SO I have stuck with "black" and will never change from that, PERIOD <-- will perhaps use the Obama definition of that statement if it suits me in the future. (I know all the libs can see the inherent nuances and unstated qualifications that are known to be in such a simple statement)

As for the "g-word" - I never used it. There was already a perfectly good word that was being usurped. I didn't get any connection between the word "gay" and the homosexual lifestyle as I then understood it.

I didn't like to use the other words - 'f' or 'q' - so I just went with the scientific name and I thought I was being 'sensitive' by using it. I don't use 'homo' - I use the full word, homosexual.

Because that is what they are. Period.

This is a significant aspect of how liberal progressives control the public narrative.

They can control only those that allow themselves to be controlled.

And as far as being "offended", like the famous homosexual, Stephen Fry, said:

It's awfully presumptuous for someone to think other people should care whether or not they're offended.

I prefer to say "homosexual" not "gay" but if that offends them then I'll say they are someone "from another galaxy".
