I agree, it seems a bit hypocritical. But in reality, how many people in America are qualified to do that job?

There are a few jobs that are almost impossible to not hire from the establishment.

probably only a few hundred.

But I am sure you could find one that wasn't your finance chair.

Just like Fed Reserve Chair, there seems to be no way around one of "those" types being Treasury Sec.

If you assume that only Wall Street bankers formerly employed by Goldman are qualified, then you're going to only get Wall Street bankers formerly employed by Goldman.

Plenty of people are qualified to run Treasury: bankers NOT from Goldman Sachs/Wall Street, attorneys who work in finance, career civil servants who have run smaller agencies/departments, CEO's of large companies that work w/ financial organizations, etc.

I would say legitimately a few dozen. Most of those wouldn't take a pay cut to take the position.

Why wouldn't he want his finance chair?

bitching just to be bitching

You have no clue what this guy is going to do just like you had no clue about anything regarding the election.

I'm not rationalizing it, but it's kind of like saying the Dallas Cowboys should get out of the establishment and hire someone whose not a football coach.

I would say, Treasury, Fed, Defense, State, have a very small pool of potential candidates. Most of the other dept just need a good manager.

And I am not really bitching, this just isn't "draining the swamp," this is the exact opposite. I am going to give a plum job to a top supporter that happens to be tied with the banking establishment.

Fine. its his to hand out.

but its not draining the swamp.

Don't mind his connections or background. This is Trump's super duper double agent who's worked as an insider but he's really going to help bring down the elite DC. Just like all his other staff members.
