And we have an obese lady spearheading these reforms. As the poster upthread said she is the perfect example of "do as i say, not as i do."
She is very very far from obese. If you can't make an argument on the federal requirements without mentioning Michelle Obama then you really aren't making any argument.

Screw the First Lady. You think kids are eating this? It's a valiant effort and I don't oppose the option of healthy lunches there, but to serve only this is ridiculous. Kids will pick them up and throw them away. I teach in a poor district where 89% are on free lunch, but they always have enough for hot Cheetos and slushes...but not pens and paper.

Obesity in children. It is a national health crisis.

if you want to do something about it, there are 2 easy steps

1. remove subsidies for corn growers and add a ton of taxation on artificial sugar and HFCS production

2. make all food stamps similar to WIC, where they are restricted in the food able to be purchased

also, it's time that we start figuring out a punishment for parents who engage in this form of child abuse...especially if they're using the public's money to give their children diabetes

there are tons of examples of shitty parents making poor/fat children who are over-represented in government services, but we refuse to be honest about it. hell, when you criticize the children for their bad decisions, the lib-prog argument always ends up back on the parents, but they refuse to do anything about it directly. this obesity shite is an easy and direct example of shite lower class culture. if we can't address the terribleness of this culture AND agree to stop subsidizing this behavior with our own (stolen) money being redistributed, then nothing will change.

Kid is tall and skinny. I mean at the BOTTOM of the Mayo Clinic's BMI calculator. Baseball coach wants them working out and getting bigger. To get him to the MIDDLE of the BMI scale, he needs to gain about 20 pounds.

Me, my father-in-law, my dad, were all the same way. I didn't start gaining weight until 30.

The point being, why are we trying to fit everyone into the same round hole? Not every kid is fat. Not every kid sits around all day and plays Xbox. Some of them are burning 1000's of calories a day. Just another govt bureaucrat causing problems to fix a problem. Oh wait. She's not an elected official.....

Your kids in baseball. You KNOW how to get him bigger dad. Just say he's got "low-t".

Also, just because your kid needs to put on pounds does not mean he HAS to eat shite. Meaning fatty-fat-fat cafeteria food. Keep him Ichiro sized. He can slap singles and steal bases for 20 years. And live long enough to play catch with his great grand kids.

And since when is the Constitution in any way relevant for this administration or any of its cronies?!?! I look forward to this (wo)man being gone even more than I look forward to the spouse disappearing off my radar.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the first, basic standard of whether or not you're a good parent the ability to feed your kid?

Tragic and hopeless circumstances aside, I have a special hatred for people who voluntarily depend on someone else to feed their children food.

Her ranting isn't even about feeding children but it's about being the food police and only feeding children whole wheat pasta, low or skim milk, vegetables which the kids detest and are throwing away in droves, etc. She thinks kids eating salad lunches is outstanding, never mind the fact that they need plenty of calories from fats, carbs, etc. for proper development. But donuts and fries are apparently ok for her and her family, just not for others.

So smart of you to get your kid's nutritional advice from a junior high baseball coach. Is he the one who came up with the 3000 calorie diet or was that a nutritionist or doctor who gave you a healthy diet to follow?

Because the only kids who are getting fat, in your opinion, are kids on food stamps?

Here we go......

Yeah, I take nutrition advice from the POTUS's wife and fricking state employees. His nutritionist and trainer have a diet plan recommended. The goal is not to turn him into an OL. It's to get him to an AVERAGE BMI.
